General Hospital's Cameron Mathison reveals new gig where he gives back

On General Hospital, Drew (Cameron Mathison) has been angering nearly everyone because of his desire to punish his family for calling him out as a scoundrel. Drew has even angered the fans, and Mathison recently told a story about one viewer who threw something at him in a supermarket to express their frustration.

In real-life, Mathison continues to be the nice guy he always is and just announced a new gig where he continues to help people.

General Hospital star makes an impact

“I’m so honored to be the Celebrity Social Media Ambassador for Habitat LA’s Los Angeles Builders Ball! 🏡✨ Join me this Thursday (tomorrow!) as I go LIVE from the event, featuring exclusive auction items and red carpet moments," Mathison wrote on Instagram. He attached a video to it in which he explained the project further.

“Hey everybody, Cameron Mathison here and I'm really excited. I'm also really grateful to announce that I'll be the celebrity social media ambassador for Habitat LA's Los Angeles Builders Ball this year. It's happening tomorrow. I'm going to be joining, I mean, an incredible night dedicated to making a real impact in greater LA, helping families build strength and stability.”

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, aka Habitat LA, is an organization dedicated to providing affordable housing to people from all walks of life. “In brighter futures, of course, through affordable home ownership and then also helping families impacted by the LA wildfires rebuild their homes, being part of this event,” the actor continued.

Mathison then explained that the organization’s cause is important to him because he and his family lost their home in the LA wildfires earlier this year, as did many thousands of people in the area."

“I'll chat with some amazing people that are walking the red carpet,” the General Hospital actor said of the live event. “It's gonna be a great night. It's gonna be a meaningful night, and I'm sure just so grateful and honored to be a part of it, OK?”

His giving streak was contagious

Habitat LA’s official page responded, “So excited to have you join us as the Celebrity Social Media Ambassador, Cameron! 🙌🎉🏠.” Follower Miriam Johnson chimed in with, “That’s amazing! Such a great cause—thank you for doing this! 🙌.”

Praise from all over came in as Mathison inspired his fans and they felt he was the best choice for ambassador. @jeannieb386 responded, “This is such an amazing cause! Have participated in Habitat for Humanity in my own community so I hope it is super successful! ”

@janebarker275 commented, “@cameronmathison you are such an amazing and inspirational person.”

Of course, one of Mathison’s followers expressed their extreme dissatisfaction with the direction GH’s Drew has taken despite appreciating his announcement, so @gloriawarshaw replied with, “When a good person can portray an awful character, it's the mark of a good actor.”
