Because of his near evil behavior, General Hospital fans have been wondering whether or not Drew (Cameron Mathison) is actually Drew. Some fan theories have even posited that he might in reality be David Henry Archer, aka Shiloh, the late cult leader. While fans ponder this strange line of theories, Mathison has been dealing with some real-world problems, including the destruction of his house during the L.A. wildfires. But with almost every dark cloud that looms over someone, a silver lining can be found, and Mathison found one recently.

General Hospital's Cameron Mathison

On Instagram, the official Good Morning America page posted part of an interview with the General Hospital star, captioning it, “After his family home was destroyed in the California wildfire earlier this year, actor @cameronmathison says he found the sign for the house in the rubble and plans to keep it as an art piece: ‘Just as a memento to remember, but also to be able to move forward.’”

In the full interview, he explained that attempting to get his life back to normal after the devastation has “been harder than you'd even imagine logistically, and also emotionally, and obviously with kids and raising them there and having everything. Every piece of evidence of your existence in life is gone.” He added, “It’s very odd. It's an odd experience. But I'm also very positive and moving forward and resilient and doing my best.”

Something in the ashes

The hosts thanked Mathison for his candor and mentioned that he found a family sign from his house in the ashes of his former home. An image of the sign, which said “Casa Lula” on it, was shown, and Mathison explained that the house’s name was a combination of his kids’ names, Lucas and Leila.

He recalled, “We did a lot of renovations on this place. This was, like, a passion project. And once we'd finished all that, we had this beautiful kind of tile thing with a little name on the front.” In the video, along with the shattered sign were the tiles that he referenced. “We found that sign,” he continued, adding, “and so we're going to kind of put that back together, make a little art piece out of it just as a memento to remember, but also to be able to move forward in the next phase, the next chapter.”

The fans responded with an incredible amount of heart and prayer emojis, illustrating their love for the actor and his family. @officialjrizzo replied, “There is no one more inspiring and just a great human being than @cameronmathison.”
