Port Charles kids and teens have been struggling with loss lately on General Hospital. However, on a positive note, Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) recently made a good call when he let his father Jason (Steve Burton) know that Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) was in Buenos Aires.
That led to Jason and Anna (Finola Hughes) bringing Lulu’s daughter home. Danny's honorary brother Rocco (Finn Carr) was peeved at Danny at first, but in the end, everyone was happy to have Charlotte home in Port Charles again. While navigating all of the drama Danny must wade through, Antonyzyn took some time to talk to Maurice Benard and opened up about living with ADHD.
General Hospital's Antonyzyn opens up about his life

Antonyzyn recently appeared on State of Mind with Maurice Benard, a YouTube mental health show created and hosted by Benard (Sonny). Toward the end of their conversation Antonyzyn revealed that while he didn’t feel it was severe, he has “pretty decently good ADHD.” Benard asked the young actor to elaborate, so he explained the diagnosis and how it was difficult for him to focus. "I take medication for it so helps me chill out [and] focus in, you know?"
He further stated that it helps him with his schoolwork, adding, “If I don't take it, you know, my mind just goes somewhere else.”
Antonyzyn admitted that he didn't feel ADHD was painful like anxiety and depression can be, but his friends notice if he doesn't take his medication, something he said he knows he needs to do.
"I just feel like I can't be myself around certain people anymore," the actor confessed, referring to how his friends react to him when he was not taking his meds.
Danny changed when Jason returned

Antonyzyn also touched on what it's been like playing Danny as the character has dealt with the loss of his mother and the return of his father.
Benard asked Antonyzyn what it was like working with Kelly Monaco, who played Sam for 21 years.
"She was great," he said. "She was always so nice with me. It really sucks she had to go.” He added that he only got a chance to work with her for a year before her untimely exit.
Antonyzyn also noted that he took on the role of Danny before Burton returned as Jason. Before his dad returned, Danny had been acting out and frustrating Sam. “Like, he’d get caught vaping or come home drunk and stuff," Antonyzyn said. "And then his dad came back, and that kind of changed everything for him."
Now that Jason is a heroic role model in Danny’s life, it’s evident the changes in his character are for the better and it’s nice to see Antonyzyn grow as an actor as his character grows. (Find out how Antonyzyn thought being on GH would be a long shot.)
