General Hospital's Adam Huss made another return to the soap this week when Laura visited Nikolas in prison. She arrived with bad news about Lulu and left with even worse news—Nikolas' liver didn't meet transplant criteria, so he couldn't save his sister's life.
Adam Huss is grateful for General Hospital
Laura and Nikolas' emotional scenes tugged at GH fans' heartstrings. The scenes also brought Huss fans to the forefront on social media, as they wondered when the actor would be signed to a contract so Nikolas could become a major Port Charles player again.
Huss responded to one fan's tweet with words of gratitude, assuring the audience how dedicated he is to giving Nikolas life.

"Thank you. I am honored," Huss wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "I am deeply passionate about playing #Nikolas & telling his story. So as I’ve said and will continue to say… all the love and encouragement means a hell of a lot to me. Not one post or message of love goes unappreciated. Please know that #GH fans!"
A co-star's kindness
Fans last saw Nikolas in April, when ex-wife Ava visited him in Pentonville. When those scenes were taped, Huss was going through a difficult time in his life after just losing his grandmother.
"No one saw it coming," Huss explained to Soap Opera Digest. "Even though she was 91, she still was very sharp. And so it really hit me hard. And it happened the day before I had to go film."
Without him saying a word about it, Maura West asked him if something was wrong, so Huss told her about his recent loss.
"We were running lines, but we stopped and just talked about my grandma," he said. "She wanted to know about her. It was just a really kind moment. Maura is one of my favorite people on that show. And there are so many lovely people there. It’s just that from day one, when we had our first scenes together, I think we connected, and I think we’ve grown fond of each other as people and as performers."
Huss has been recurring as Nikolas since 2021 when he first filled in for Marcus Coloma. He then took over the role originated by the late Tyler Christopher after Coloma left GH in 2022. Since then, Huss has come and gone multiple times. Whether or not he brings Nikolas back to Port Charles on a regular basis remains to be seen.
