Tony Geary, the General Hospital legend who helped save the show from cancellation and put it on the map more than 40 years ago as one-half of Luke and Laura, celebrated his wedding anniversary just in time for Valentine's Day this week.

"Greetings and happy week to all from Amsterdam winter days," Gama wrote. "It’s cold but dry this week is our anniversary week. Tony and I met 30 years ago in February and got married 6 years ago also in February. Two anniversaries to celebrate. I have to find a good gift and make some special food maybe bake another cake that will make Tony. From me, Tony, and Max, stay safe and warm."

In another post, Gama shared photos from the couple's anniversary party in Amsterdam.

"Our anniversary is in full party mode good friends nice booze and pizza," he posted. "It’s mid-week, and I decided not to cook. I will have a big dinner on the weekend then more people can join. Thank you all for all the lovely wishes from Tony, Max, and me, a toast to you all stay safe and healthy."

Geary's life after General Hospital

In September, it will be 10 years since Luke Spencer walked into the fog and onto a boat destined for parts unknown. We know that Luke eventually settled in Amsterdam, where he reunited with Tracy in 2017. For one brief moment, fans saw Geary and Luke again when Tracy (Jane Elliot) walked into an Amsterdam cafe to find the love of her life smiling back at her.

Not only did Luke move to Amsterdam, but so did Geary. The actor had owned a home in the Dutch city for years. When he retired from acting in 2015, he chose to move there full-time and pursue a different kind of life away from Hollywood.

"Amsterdam is a city of amazing qualities," Geary told Soaps In Depth in 2019. “Cobblestone streets designed 400 years ago for walking and cycling, tree-lined canals and quirky historical buildings, people from all over the world wishing you a good morning in every conceivable language… I love it here."

In 2024, Geary even received a visitor from his GH days when Kelly Monaco (ex-Sam McCall) vacationed in Amsterdam and reunited with her old friend.

Whether Geary chooses to make a return GH appearance remains to be seen. While Luke is currently presumed dead, anything can happen on a soap. We're sure Laura (Genie Francis) and Tracy would be quite surprised.
