General Hospital fans were surprised on Monday when a new Aiden Spencer appeared in the September 30 episode.
Another Aiden Spencer on General Hospital
Colin Cassidy is now the new Aiden Spencer, but the third actor to appear in the role in a year. Enzo De Angelis recurred as Aiden from 2021 to 2023 before Tristan Riggs appeared in a handful of episodes this past spring.
Cassidy's debut also marks the day Aiden's father, Lucky Spencer, arrives back in Port Charles after nearly ten years away. Although Elizabeth mentioned Aiden visiting his father a few times through the years, the father and son barely know one another.

Colin Cassidy assesses Aiden
GH is Cassidy's soap opera debut. His other screen credits include roles in the flicks Merry Ex-Mas and Labyu With an Accent, according to IMDb.
"I feel incredibly grateful for this opportunity," Cassidy told Soap Opera Digest. "To be thrown in with the incredible actors I’m working with and have these amazing scenes to do…It’s really not something to scoff at! It’s a big deal and I’m very grateful."
Cassidy has already formed a strong opinion about his character and analyzed Aiden's relationship with Elizabeth.
"Aiden is a very sweet young man. He’s loving, caring, thoughtful. He’s ambitious," Cassidy said. "He’s got his baking business and he works hard in school. But I think the most important thing to him is his family — especially his mom. He’s very protective of his mom. He trusts her; he feels like he can be himself with her."
Aiden's dramatic past
Aiden was born on-screen in 2010 after Elizabeth had an affair with Nikolas Cassadine. His paternity was even in question for a bit, but Lucky was eventually revealed as his father. However, Lucky and Elizabeth's relationship didn't survive, and Lucky eventually left town.
Lucky briefly returned in 2015 to bring young Jake home to Elizabeth after discovering the boy was alive and being held hostage by Helena Cassadine on Cassadine Island.
Aiden was later a victim of bullying when in third grade. Late last year, a now teenage Aiden came out to his mother when he revealed the name of the boy he was interested in.
Will Aiden now get a front-burner story with his father back in the picture? How will he cope with Lucky being back in his life? Will he resent him in the same way that Jake resented Jason? Stay tuned to find out.
