General Hospital comings and goings: Lydia Look returns as Selina Wu

Mobstress Selina Wu will be back on the General Hospital scene this week as Lydia Look returns to the role for the first time in nearly a year, according to Soap Opera Digest.

The last time we saw Ms. Wu was in March of 2024, when she gave a warning to Curtis (Donnell Turner) at The Savoy. After that, she seemed to disappear into thin air. Even her trusty nephew Brad (Parry Shen) stopped talking about her when he got his old job back as a lab tech at GH.

Now, all that is about to change, thanks to Cody (Josh Kelly). The Quartermaine stable hand is looking to make his fortune so he can buy the estate he grew up on that once belonged to his late mother, Dominique (Shell Danielson). He thinks a football game tip is a sure thing and is willing to bet $50K, thinking it will turn into a lot more. However, he needs Selina's illegal gambling operation to help him place that bet. He also needs to help him contact Selina.

What trouble will Brad and Cody get into when they become involved in Selina's underworld activities? They have been trying to walk the straight and narrow for the last year, but Selina is bound to cause all sorts of problems for these two flawed men.

Lydia Look as a fan-favorite

It's been nearly 10 years since Look's Selina first attended a meeting of the Five Families and got to know both Carly (Laura Wright) and Michael (Chad Duell). She popped up again several times through the years but didn't become a regular Port Charles fixture until 2021, when she helped Jason (Steve Burton) and Carly have a relatively peaceful wedding by eliminating some mafia enemies from New York City. When Sonny (Maurice Benard) returned, she marked her territory and tried to co-exist as friendly rival mobsters.

We also learned that Selina was Brad Cooper's aunt when she ordered Brad to work for her. Later, she got Cody involved with her backroom poker games at The Savoy after making a deal with Curtis to use the room on the down low. She even wanted to buy The Savoy after Curtis was shot, but Marshall (Robert Gossett) convinced his son not to sell.

Fans love Look's portrayal of the cold-as-ice but always glamorous lady mobster who even sends chills down Sonny's spine. What mischief will she be up to this time, aside from machinations with Cody and Brad? Stay tuned to find out.
