When General Hospital's Lois last appeared on the Home and Heart channel, selling Deception beauty products, a caller had some disparaging things to say about the character's thick Brooklyn accent. That incident has led Lois to hire an etiquette coach who debuts this week in the form of Saturday Night Live star Sarah Sherman.

General Hospital's Lois needs some help

Sherman, who joined the cast of SNL in 2021 will appear on the September 5 and 6 episodes as Ms. Robin Finch, an etiquette coach ready to wipe Lois' Brooklyn accent away.

In a scene ABC released to People, Ms. Finch appears in the Quartermaine living room and immediately critiques Olivia's pronunciation of the word "croissant." Olivia tells her that she will pronounce words any way she sees fit, but she is soon amazed when Ms. Finch is able to trace her accent right back to the specific Brooklyn neighborhood she comes from. After all, if Brooklyn were technically a city and not a borough, it would be considered the third-largest American city, and there are a lot of neighborhoods with varying speech patterns.

Even Lois is not sure who the mysterious Quartermaine guest is until she introduces herself. It looks like Lois might be taking a page from My Fair Lady as Ms. Finch becomes her Henry Higgins to Lois' Eliza Doolittle.

Sarah Sherman had the time of her life

Sherman was thrilled to join the GH cast ahead of SNL's 50th season premiere on September 28.

"I had the best time of my life and I couldn’t believe I got to act in a scene with Tracy Quartermaine!" Sherman told People. "I was so nervous about flubbing my lines because I was surrounded by pros who memorize like a billion pages of dialogue a day. Also, I met Sonny Corinthos so I can die happy!"

After Ms. Finch does her job, will Lois emerge a new woman, or will she decide it's just fine to sound like you're from Brooklyn if you are from Brooklyn? Olivia and Brook Lynn don't have a problem with their own accents, but with Lois now making television appearances, she feels more self-conscious than ever.
