It's been quite a year for Jon Lindstrom, the actor who has brought General Hospital's Kevin Collins and Ryan Chamberlain to life off and on for more than 30 years. First, his debut novel, Hollywood Hustle was published last February. Then, he joined the cast of new soap Beyond the Gates as Joey Armstrong. Now, Hollywood Hustle is being made into a movie.

Deadline reports that AETH Entertainment has acquired the rights to Hollywood Hustle, Lindstrom's popular novel about a Hollywood star's fall from grace and the means he uses to get back on top.

"So much of my career has been spent in and around the film industry, and I wanted Hollywood Hustle to capture the look and feel of that world behind the camera that most people don’t see,” Lindstrom told Deadline. "I’ve had the chance to play so many great characters imagined by other writers. It’s going to be a thrill to see the characters I created come to life on the screen."

The actor is also set to be the executive producer of the film.

Lindstrom began his soap career in 1984 on the syndicated soap Rituals. He later went on to briefly appear on Santa Barbara and Generations before taking on the role of psychotic pediatrician Ryan on GH in 1993. After Ryan allegedly died, the actor began playing his twin, mild-mannered psychiatrist Kevin Collins.

Lindstrom joined his ex-wife Cady McClain (Pamela Curtis) and longtime friend Michele Val Jean at Beyond the Gates recently for a new chapter in his soap opera career. As Joey Armstrong, Lindstrom plays a smarmy casino owner with an agenda.

"Joey comes from the other side of the tracks," Lindstrom has said of his new character. "But Joey runs a casino, which if you’ve ever been inside a casino, you know that a casino is kind of like what a bar is to an alcoholic,” he continued. “So, people can get into a lot of trouble around Joey, and Joey doesn’t like trouble. He knows how to end trouble, but he doesn’t like trouble."

So far, Joey seems to have made Doug his mark as the character encourages Doug to get more and more in debt.
