Both Adam Huss and Ted King could pop back up on soaps at any moment, but the two popular General Hospital stars are keeping busy in the meantime.

Take them out to the ballgame

Huss, who still recurs as Nikolas Cassadine on GH, and King, who last appeared as Jack Finnegan on The Bold and the Beautiful this past summer, are working on a new TV series, according to Soap Opera Digest.

Titled Heavy Hitters, it revolves around a professional baseball team and features long-ago soap star Catherine Mary Stewart. Longtime Days of our Lives fans will remember Stewart as the original Kayla Brady. You will also see cameo appearances from Jose Rijo of the New York Yankees and Nelson Figueroa of the New York Mets.

Huss plays Coach Rob Mitchell and is thrilled to be working with King, who brought GH's Lorenzo and Luis Alcazar to life. King plays Slater Smith, who works with aspiring college baseball players.

"Working with Ted King has been great,” Huss told Digest. “Fortunately we have a lot of scenes together since he runs the combine and we butt heads a bit on how we go about doing things when it comes to the rules of the combine. I love working off of the intensity he brings to each scene. It really drives both me as an actor and fuels Coach Rob’s intensity."

Huss also enjoyed talking to King about his time on GH. Huss's last appearance as Nikolas was in August of this year.

"We’ve spoken at length on set about his days on General Hospital and about my current stint as Nikolas," Huss said. "He loved his time there, and talked highly of all the actors and the level of craft the actors bring on that show."

Nikolas' General Hospital status

While King's two GH characters have been off the canvas for years, Huss has been popping in and out of Port Charles for nearly two years. He first took over the role of Nikolas as a temporary replacement for Marcus Coloma but then finished out Coloma's storyline when Nikolas had been presumed dead.

Fans have since learned Nikolas is very much alive, but he's been atoning for past sins in prison since February. Will Huss return to GH as inmate 246015 (an homage to Les Miserables' lead character, known as inmate 24601) at some point soon? Stay tuned to find out.
