General Hospital villain Jerry Jacks has a laundry list of crimes he’s committed that’s about a mile long. Between numerous robberies, assaults, kidnappings, and murders, Sebastian Roche has played Jerry with gravitas. A gentleman villain, he’s as ruthless as he is debonair. Roche recently talked about his time playing the international criminal from 2007 to 2015 and teased that Jerry could eventually make his way back to Port Charles.
You never know on General Hospital

Fans of General Hospital’s Sebastian Roche have no trouble finding him on the TV dial as the actor has been in nearly 120 films and shows since 1986. He’s currently playing Father Renaud in the second season of 1923, the prequel series to Yellowstone. Us Weekly caught up with the beloved actor, who was in the middle of a 1923 promotional junket.

Roche was asked if he would reprise his role as the nefarious and ruthless Jerry on General Hospital. He responded, “Never say never. No one ever dies [in the show],” hilariously adding, “I don’t know how many times I’ve died.”
The part was originally played by Julian Stone from 1998 to 1999, and back then, while Jerry had some misdeeds that included theft, assault, and bombing, it wasn’t until Roche stepped into the role in 2007 that Jerry leveled up. His re-introduction came as Jerry and several masked henchmen took control of the Metro Court Hotel, holding several people hostage. In an homage to the show 24, the episodes containing that story were told in real time, with Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon) being the major casualty at the hands of Jerry.
Roche recalled that the “Metro Court Hostage Crisis…became such a huge thing. I had no idea it would be so big. In a way, such a blessing.” Jerry was last seen in Port Charles in 2015 when he was captured and sent up the river. However, in 2019, Jerry’s brother Jasper “Jax” Jacks (ex-Ingo Rademacher) disclosed that the villain managed to escape from Pentonville Prison, but he hasn’t resurfaced yet.
When asked where Jerry could possibly be, Roche responded, “He’s probably in the Caribbean in some beautiful villa. A bit like [James] Bond. Or somewhere in the South Pacific. But you know, he’s a traveler. Traveling incognito, maybe in disguise. I like to think of him sailing, maybe in some beautiful destination.”
When he was first on the soap, Roche was surprised and pleased that he was allowed to improvise somewhat. “They would let me be incredibly free,” he happily remarked, adding, “I found that very, very invigorating as an actor. I really found the joy again doing that because they respected my work, and they let me just go.”
He further stated that while there are currently no plans for his return to General Hospital, “You never know in these circumstances, on that kind of a show. It would be fun.” (Find out about another hostage crisis at the Metro Court.)
