Since leaving General Hospital last year, Nicholas Alexander has made quite a name for himself in Hollywood.

He starred as Lyle Menendez in the Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, before moving on to Ryan Murphy's FX series Grotesquerie. Now, his latest project will take him away from the screen and onto the stage.

Chavez will star opposite former Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson in the Williamstown Theatre Festival production of Camino Real this summer in Massachusetts' Berkshire Mountains. Chavez will play the lead character of Kilroy, a boxer who meets various historical figures in a strange small town.

The play will also star two other former ABC soap stars. Florencia Lozano, who played Tea Delgado on both One Life to Live and GH, will also appear, as will Soccoro Santiago, who played Isabella Santos on All My Children.

If you can't make it to see Chavez on stage in Massachusetts from July 17 through August 3, you can catch him on the big screen in his feature film debut with the remake of I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Chavez made his professional acting debut on GH as Spencer Cassadine in 2021 and won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Performer in 2022. Spencer's romance with Trina won the hearts of fans and landed the Chavez and Tabyana Ali on the cover of People Magazine for the soap's 60th anniversary in 2023.

After more than two years of ups and downs, Spencer and Trina finally thought they had found happiness in early 2024 when they moved to Paris so Trina could study art at the Sorbonne. Sadly, Spencer plunged off a riverboat into the Seine and was presumed dead within days of their arrival. Fans hoped Chavez would return after he finished filming Monsters, but a few months later, the actor tweeted his goodbye to daytime.

"I’m so appreciative of the opportunity that GH gave me, and I wouldn’t be as busy as I am professionally if it weren’t for the talented producers, writers, directors, and fellow actors," Chavez wrote. Frank Valentini is a mentor and a friend, and we’ve had some pretty extensive conversations about my future on the show. While there are no current plans for me to return, we are still talking very openly about future possibilities for Spencer in Port Charles.

"Beyond the people I’ve already mentioned, I want to take some time to thank and honor the GH fan base… especially the Sprina fans… who must be THE most loyal and kind fan base in the universe of entertainment. Words fail to show the depth of my gratitude, thank you, I love you all very, very much."

Could Chavez still return as Spencer one day? Hey, anything is possible.
