On General Hospital, Chad Brannon played Zander Smith, who was the biological father of Cameron Webber (William Lipton). Zander had gotten into all kinds of trouble with the law, and when he was at his lowest point, he found himself in a standoff with the police. He ultimately chose to go out using a “suicide by cop” tactic when he pretended he was pulling out a gun.

Brannon’s been in several films and TV shows over the years, with one last return to Port Charles in March 2021 as Zander’s ghost. Now, the actor has announced a couple of new projects, although he’s been a little tight-lipped about them.

Not one, but two films

Brannon took to Instagram to write, “The Lord has a sense of humor. I had been wondering if I should do more on-camera work since I had done a couple of fun projects recently. Then, I received a call with an offer to be in two feature films on the same day. Grateful. Today, I wrap one of them. It’s been a blast. (Yes, I have lots of make-up on kids. I think it’s a secret why…details later).”

The fans were excited to hear Brannon’s news, with @ddmworshp responding, “Be sure to let us know because we think you have SO much talent.” Actress Eva Craw eagerly commented, “So stoked for you and grateful to have worked on this one together!!”

That gave us the first clue, which we followed up on. The trail led us to an upcoming film called The Descent Part II, in which she plays a character called Zoey and Brannon plays Adam. This movie is not to be confused with the 2009 horror sequel called The Descent: Part 2, about cave exploring that goes horribly wrong - a continuation of the 2005 cult classic The Descent.

He’s back

Several fans who missed Brannon’s performance on GH replied, including Mike Rinaldi, who wrote, “Congratulations. It's great to see you back onscreen,” and @kugoldenangel, who commented, “Can't wait to see it. Miss seeing you. 😊.”

Congratulations came from all over, and the fans eagerly wanted to hear more about his upcoming projects with @firefighter_crafted writing, “That’s exciting! Congrats! I look forward to hearing more!”

Although it’s unclear what her relationship to the actor is, Carolyn Brannon responded, “Be sure and let us know. M&P.” However, the cover photo on her Facebook page shows that she may possibly be his mother or another really close relation. (Find out what Brannon said about his GH return.)

You can watch new episodes of General Hospital on ABC and Hulu.
