The actress began her entertainment career more than 40 years ago on GH, and this was her first time winning an award for her craft.

"I really wasn’t expecting that. I’m just in shock right now," Moore began. "I’ve been doing this a long time, like over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve ever won anything as an actor, and I’m just so humbled and so grateful.

"Thirty years ago, I had a producer tell me that I was a 'popcorn actress, and, at that time, I made that mean that this [award] wasn’t something that I was allowed to have," she continued. "That I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that I couldn’t be acknowledged, and I bought in and I believed that. And that corroded me over time, to the point where I thought, a few years ago, that maybe this was it. Maybe I was complete. Maybe I would—I’d done what I was supposed to do."

Moore went on to explain that one day, the script for The Substance came across her desk, leading her to that amazing moment on the evening of January 5, 2025. But, it was General Hospital that helped her lead her successful career.

Moore was only 19 years old when she landed the role of Jackie Templeton on GH. Moore won her Golden Globe exactly 43 years and one day after her GH debut on January 4, 1982.

Jackie was an intrepid reporter who arrived in Port Charles in search of her sister, Laura Templeton (Janine Turner). Jackie and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) embarked on a short-lived romance that ended when he became involved with Holly Sutton (Emma Samms). Jackie eventually left Port Charles in 1984, only to return more than 30 years later with a new face.

When Jackie made her way back to Port Charles in 2019, she was played by soap vet Kim Delaney (ex-Jenny Nelson, All My Children) and revealed to be Harrison Chase's (Josh Swickard) mother. We also learned Jackie was still a reporter who had an affair with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) before marrying his father, Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison). Jackie and Gregory divorced when Gregory learned the truth, and Jackie hasn't been heard from since.

However, Moore is most synonymous with the role, which is the one that launched her career all those years ago and brought her to that golden moment at the Golden Globes. You can hear her entire speech in the video below.
