General Hospital’s Alexis Davis managed to beat the odds once again when the gun she dumped in the canyon was found and proven not to be the weapon that killed FBI agent John “Jagger” Cates, and she was freed. Her portrayer, Nancy Lee Grahn, beat something a little more physical in real life and had the help of her daughter, Kate Grahn. While no one in their right mind would hire the duo as contractors, they each played their parts well.
They’re like a DIY show
On Instagram, General Hospital star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) posted a video with the simple caption “Demo Divas.” The video depicted Grahn and Kate clad in protective eyewear as they attempted to break the cabinets and countertops of a kitchen into little bits. She explained,
So we’re doing our own version of Fix This House or…Let’s Get a New House…or whatever those shows are called. And we’re gonna do the demo part of this whole wall unit.

She motioned across the room, pointing out the countertop and upper cabinets that were the intended targets of their demolition. Grahn had several tools on one counter and explained,
So I went and I got some tools.
She then banged the claw end of a hammer on the counter, which did nothing but bounce. She held the hammer up and pointed out the obvious:
I tried that. It doesn’t work. But I own that, I didn’t buy it.
Next, Grahn took a sledgehammer and held it up, stating,
This thing, which is a sledgehammer. I just learned that at the…DIY store?
She swung the sledgehammer and struck one of the counters, which had no result. Kate then took the tool and whacked the counter, burying the tool into the top, which had Grahn yelling,
OH! Oh, I’m so proud!
Things got crazier
After some time had passed and a larger hole was smashed into the countertop, Grahn tried her hand with the sledgehammer and banged the counter but jumped back, shouting,
Ow! F**k! Oh, I think I broke my finger. [The scene cut and she continued] I’m gonna get us some work gloves.
The scene cut once again, and with large pieces of counter broken into bits and strewn all over the floor, she reappeared with gloves. But they weren’t work gloves; they were bright pink elbow-length evening gloves, or opera gloves as they are sometimes called. With a martini in her right hand and a smaller hammer in her left, she continued to pound away at what was left of the below-counter cabinet. She hilariously sipped the martini in between strikes. Then, the scene cut to her using a crowbar to separate the lower cabinets from the wall, shouting:
Look I got it! [Then] S**t oh s**t!
Her expletives came after a loud crack sound was heard, but she didn’t reveal what damage she might have done to the wall. The scene then cuts to Kate, who once more holds the sledgehammer and, while giggling, says,
So much rage inside of me.
The scene hilariously shifts to the two of them banging away at the cabinets and then Grahn dancing to the beat of Kate’s hammering. Suddenly, Grahn is in a room with musical instruments, still clad in her demolition garb, and she’s banging a drum to a similar beat. Kate continues to pound away at the countertop, which eventually gives way and collapses in pieces to the floor as the two cheer.
The scene cut to black and then resumed with Grahn and Kate, and Mom made a political pitch to the viewers, then the video ended.
