General Hospital's Kristina took an incredible fall from Ava's Metro Court hotel room right into the pool. Read on for a peek into how GH pulled off the shocking scenes.
General Hospital's Kristina becomes a Metro Court pool victim
Last summer, Ned Quartermaine ran into the Metro Court pool area with news for his cousin Drew about Nina's role in reporting Drew and Carly to the SEC for insider trading. Unfortunately, he tripped over some towels, hit his head, and ended up unconscious in the pool. When he awoke, he believed he was his long-ago alter ego, rock star Eddie Maine.
This year, Kristina Corinthos-Davis took an accidental plunge into the pool, but it was much more dramatic and precarious. During a fight with Ava, Kristina tripped over John's duffel bag and fell out the window, right into the pool—while nine months pregnant.

How Kristina's fall happened
Of course, a stunning fall like that doesn't happen easily. According to Jacqueline Grace Lopez, who plays Kristina's girlfriend Alison "Blaze" Rogers-Ramirez, two stunt doubles were needed to make the action and drama happen. Lopez tweeted a behind-the-scenes snap of Kate Mansi's stunt double above the very small Metro Court pool that looks much bigger through the magic of television.
"HUGE shoutout to our two incredible stuntwomen who helped pull this scene off. To hit your mark in this shallow, narrow pool!?" she wrote.
Mansi also found herself in awe of the stunt doubles, telling Soap Opera Digest she was amazed by "the absolute art and talent to their craft, which is so often overlooked."
Kristina's blood-curdling scream as she fell backward through the window down into the water added to the drama. It took a bit to get the scream right, but Mansi was a trooper as she expressed Kristina's terror.
"Rob [Markham, the director] was like, 'Okay, we have to get audio of you falling,'" she said. "Everyone was still on set and looking at me and I had to do this big scream, so I let out this big scream that I thought was really good. And then Rob was like, 'We need it longer.' And I was like, 'Longer?!' And they were like, 'Yeah, it’s five floors!' So we did it again until we got the scream just right."
Now, Kristina's life is on the line, as is the life of the baby she is carrying as a surrogate for Molly and T.J. Will one or both survive this very soapy situation?
