Baby's first words: See the adorable way General Hospital star Chris McKenna reacts to dad on TV

Soap fans got to see new General Hospital star Chris McKenna grow up on TV when he began playing Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live in 1990. He spent some of his teenage years as a soap star, and now his own son is getting to know him as one.

McKenna took to social media this week to show off his baby boy's new language skills — and how excited he was to spot a familiar face on the television.

"'Dada,'" he tweeted along with a video. "When Spence sees pop on TV. #firstwords #baby #gh #Brennan."

The video features a jubilant little Spencer repeating the word "dada" as McKenna and baby took in an episode of General Hospital. The actor only recently took over the role of Jack Brennan on GH, so it's the first chance McKenna's seven-month-old son is getting to know his dad as a TV star as well as the man who changes his diapers.

McKenna and his wife Lovissa Jansson welcomed their son into the world last July, announcing the birth on Instagram.

"Introducing Spencer J. McKenna, born 7/26/24. My incredible wife @luulluu begged out of these photos but she was absolutely amazing," the actor wrote alongside a snap of his newborn baby.

McKenna was in awe of his wife during her pregnancy, often posting photos to chronicle this important time in the couple's life.

"Looking forward to the next chapter with the most amazing woman I know. You’ve been so strong, brave, brilliant, and more beautiful than ever throughout this. So proud of you and the mother you already are," he posted on Instagram.

On-screen, McKenna's character is anything but the doting dad. Instead, he is a ruthless WSB agent who will do anything to get the job done. However, it turns out that his Achilles heel is Carly (Laura Wright), a woman he never expected to fall for when he first came to Port Charles. Is Spencer watching one of his dad's scenes with Carly, a character whose last name just happens to be Spencer? Hearing that name could also give the little guy a thrill during the many Carly Spencer moments Jack will surely experience.
