It’s no secret that General Hospital star Kirsten Storms, who plays Maxie, has been an avid crocheter. During the pandemic of 2020, she and Emme Rylan (ex-Lulu) did a lot of online knit-alongs in which they would show fans how to knit and crochet. The two have continued honing their skills, and Storms recently revealed the best project she’s worked on so far.
She’s a knit wit
Kirsten Storms shared an amazing photo of her wearing a homemade sweater on Instagram with the caption, “If you had told me on the day @emmerylan taught me how to crochet, that I would one day make a sweater like this -- I would have slowly backed away, fearing you were insane. Unfortunately, I’m gonna need to make this in all the colors. (I’m sorry I did not write down what I did for this top. I blame Netflix.) #summercanbesweaterweather #crochetersofınstagram.”
She probably had something on Netflix playing on her television while she made the sweater, which would explain why she didn’t include a detailed explanation of her method. Bradford Anderson, who plays her GH love interest Spinelli, shared, “👏👏❤️,” while another co-star, Finola Hughes (Anna), responded, “Super cute!!!”
She had a good teacher

Storms learned everything about crocheting from Rylan, and the fans did not forget that fact. @allisonroxjbj responded, “That is a beautiful sweater. You did a great job and had a wonderful teacher too 👏🔥.” Similarly, @weezy0211 commented, “You had a very good teacher. Love the sweater. Miss seeing videos of the two of you together.” Many other fans lamented the fact that Rylan is no longer on the show.
Another fan, @cyn_gcw, expressed their longing to see more Maxie, reacting, “LIVING YOUR BEST LIFE! And MAXIE needs a storyline. I adore Spinelli and the actor, but Maxie and Nathan were magic❤️❤️❤️.” Nathan was Maxie’s greatest love and was played by fan favorite Ryan Paevey until the villain, and his father, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) killed him by mistake.
@grneyed_mama wrote a long passage about her mother’s exploits in crocheting and wrapped her topic up with, “I’m impressed with the patterns you come up with! So pretty!! It makes me want to take it up again. It’s been so long now, tho that it would be like starting over🤔.” She continued by writing, “You look amazing, btw, Kirsten. And love the color of this one.👌🏼♥️♥️.”
Many fans wanted to buy a sweater just like the ones Storms made. A fan going by the handle @nannyglau1 responded, “It's a beautiful sweater, Kirsten. As a fellow crocheter, I know the work that went into it.”
