Sonny and Michael with John
Sonny and Michael with John's body on General Hospital

In Drew's office, Drew and Willow continued their passionate kiss until Willow pulled away. She looked at Drew in disbelief. He quickly apologized for what had happened, but she insisted the kiss wasn't his fault. Willow and Drew both seemed ashamed of themselves and said they had just gotten caught up in the moment. "I love my husband, Drew," she assured him. She was adament that she was not a wife who cheated, then she seemed to reconsider. "But am I?" Willow asked.

Drew assured Willow that she wasn't a cheater, but he confessed that he sometimes wished he had met Willow before Michael had. "But you didn't meet me first. Michael did...He is an amazing father and husband and has stood by me during the darkest times. The life we've built together means everything to me, and that is why what happened between us will have to stay locked in my heart," Willow explained.

Willow grabbed her purse to leave and order a rideshare, but Drew insisted on driving her home. Reluctantly, she agreed.

Outside the Quartermaine boathouse, Sonny shot John in the chest and then pumped another bullet into his lifeless body for good measure. As Sonny stood there with his smoking gun, he noticed a shocked Michael staring at him. Sonny tried to explain that John had been going after Kristina, so Sonny had had to kill him. Michael stopped Sonny. "Dad, enough. I don't want to hear it," Michael said.

Michael quickly jumped into protective mode, telling Sonny that Carly was at the main house and would give him an alibi. Michael sent Sonny back to the house while assuring Sonny that he would "take care of it."

In the Quatertermaine living room, Tracy interrupted as Nina told Chase and Brook Lynn all about the latest issue of Crimson. Tracy looked exhausted and explained that taking care of Ace wasn't easy. Tracy sent Brook Lynn as reinforcement for Lois to help quiet Ace. A short time later, Brook Lynn returned to the living room with a calm Ace, surprising Tracy. With a little prodding, Brook Lynn was able to get Tracy to admit that she'd love to have a great-grandchild one day.

Upstairs, Sonny pulled Carly into a bedroom and told her that he needed her help. "If anybody asks, we've been up here together for the last half-hour," Sonny said. Carly had questions, but Sonny seemed hesitant to explain.

Soon, Carly and Sonny stood at the bottom of the stairs in the foyer. When Sonny asked if Carly was ready, she reminded him that she'd "done this before." They entered the living room together, and Chase quickly noticed Sonny tucking in his shirt. Chase's expression indicated that he had jumped to the conclusion that Sonny had intended. Tracy also noticed and commented about Sonny and Carly's tryst.

Nina quietly asked Sonny if he and Carly were back together, so Sonny claimed that things had gotten heated during his and Carly's conversation upstairs. Carly added that it was none of Nina's business. Meanwhile, Chase had stepped out to take a call from Michael. When Chase returned, he announced that there had been a shooting on the premises. Tracy tried to send the guests home, but Chase insisted that everyone stay to answer questions.

Back at the boathouse, Michael ended his call with Chase. Just then, Willow and Drew walked up and were stunned when they saw John's body. Michael claimed that he had gone to the boathouse to make certain everything was battened down during the storm, and he'd discovered John's body. When Drew asked about the shooter, Michael denied having seen John's killer. After Michael asked Drew to take Willow to the main house, he waited for Anna to arrive.

A short time later, Michael finished answering Anna's questions. After he left, Anna lamented to Chase that John had lost his way in life.

Drew and Willow ended up back at the main house, where Drew announced that John was dead. Sonny immediately asked where Michael was. Drew told him that Michael was still at the boathouse. Carly gave Sonny a knowing look. Michael walked in soon after. Willow asked him if they could go home, but Michael said they needed to wait to talk to the police. Tracy then piped up.

"Yes, so we can tell them what everyone already knows. That Sonny despised John Cates and vice versa. It's not lost on me that John Cates was murdered the very night that Sonny came to check on his offspring," Tracy said while looking straight at Sonny.

After stealing Alexis' car keys and Sonny's gun, Kristina ended up at the cemetery by baby Irene's grave. Kristina began speaking to the baby, calling her Adela. Kristina stood there with a sorcerer Mickey Mouse doll in her hand and apologized to the baby. "I just wanted to come here and tell you I am sorry about what happened at the funeral. You didn't deserve that," Kristina said.

A hysterical Kristina insisted to baby Irene that Molly was wrong, and Kristina never would have gone to Ava's hotel room if she'd known something bad would happen. "I loved you so much, and I only wanted to protect you...I don't want to be without you, Adela," Kristina cried.

Kristina laid her head on the grave, with rain pouring on her, and made a promise to the baby. "I promise I will never forget everything you hated and everything you loved. I hope you felt loved. I love you, Adela, and I'll take you with me everywhere," Kristina said. She finally left the Mickey Mouse doll next to the Teddy Bear by the grave before leaving.

At Alexis' houe, Alexis and Sam were relieved when a sopping-wet Kristina walked in. Kristina told Alexis and Sam that she had gone to the cemetery. Kristina admitted that she didn't want to go on without the baby. Sam took a crying Kristina into her arms.

Sam and Kristina ended up on the couch, talking about Sam's loss. Sam understood what Kristina was going through and admitted she would dream about her lost daughter, Lila, the same way that Kristina had found herself dreaming about Adela. "None of those dreams are ever going to come true because of Ava. I have to make sure Ava pays for what she has done," Kristina said. With those words, Alexis and Sam exchanged worried glances.

After Kristina went upstairs to sleep and Sam left, Alexis began to straighten up. When she picked up Kristina's purse, Alexis noticed how heavy it was, so she checked inside and found Sonny's gun.

On Route 41, a surprised Jason found Isaiah lying on the side of the road. Jason checked for a pulse and determined that Isaiah was still alive. He then called for emergency help and claimed that he hadn't seen the accident.

Meanwhile, Agent Boyle held Ava at gunpoint as she marched Ava to a remote area. Ava insisted they go back and see if the man they'd run down was okay. Ava tried reasoning with Boyle, telling her that killing a person would change Boyle forever. Boyle wasn't moved, so Ava begged for mercy, telling Boyle that she needed to be there for her daughter. As Boyle prepared to pull the trigger, Jason appeared behind her with a gun.

Boyle grabbed Ava and pressed the gun into Ava's side as she used Ava as a shield. Ava demanded that Jason "shoot her already," so Boyle dropped the gun as Ava scrambled for it. Ava trained the gun on Boyle, who argued that she also had a daughter. Ava asked Jason to take over for her, but Jason told Ava that what happened next was up to her. "I am at my limit. I am so sick of being pushed around and letting people play games with my life. No more," Ava declared.

Ava pointed the gun at Boyle, but she didn't shoot. Ava didn't want Boyle's death on her conscience. Jason handcuffed Boyle and called the police.

At General Hospital, Elizabeth was surprised to see Ric bearing flowers. He said he was craving a friendly face, but Elizabeth only accepted the flowers so she could make smaller arrangements and give them to her patients. Elizabeth quickly turned Ric down when he invited her for dinner. Ric was persistent and said he would return in the hopes that Elizabeth might change her mind.

Later, Ric did as promised and returned with a cup of coffee for Elizabeth, remembering that she took it with a splash of milk and two sugars. Ric and Elizabeth caught up on their lives and careers. Ric insisted people could change, and that he was "on the road to self-improvement." The subject soon turned to Molly's well-being, with Elizabeth telling Ric that she'd never doubted Ric's love for his daughter.

Ric surprised Elizabeth when he brought up Heather and asked for Liz's opinion. Elizabeth admitted that Heather always had a soft spot for her because of Franco. Elizabeth was taken aback to hear that Ric was representing Heather.

Soon, another nurse stopped by, telling Elizabeth that she was needed. Ric asked if they could talk again. Elizabeth told Ric that she was off work in 20 minutes, so he could meet her downstairs. Instead, he met her near the elevators and invited her for ice cream.

Jordan arrived at GH to check how things were going in the storm. Portia told her things were quiet so far, but she questioned Jordan about Ric. Portia explained that Ric was Heather's new lawyer. "Is he a good lawyer? Can he actually make a case for Heather?" Portia asked. Jordan had to admit she believed it was possible.

After her conversation with Jordan, Portia examined her new unconscious emergency patient, Isaiah. He had no identification, so Portia asked Jordan to help her figure out who her patient was. Jordan did some digging and recognized Jason's voice on the 9-1-1 call.
