At Dex’s apartment, Dex smiled when he saw Josslyn standing in the hallway, but his expression turned to concern when he noticed that she was upset. Josslyn assured him that she was physically fine, but not emotionally. As tears filled her eyes, Dex wrapped his arms around Josslyn. After he and Josslyn went to the sofa, she told him about the tragedy at Metro Court. Kristina shared that she had jumped into the pool to help, but she'd momentarily frozen when she'd seen it had been Kristina. Dex was supportive as he reminded Josslyn that her lifeguard training had kicked in, and she had saved Kristina’s life. Josslyn confessed that she had a horrible feeling that either Kristina or the baby might die.
Later, Josslyn emerged from the bedroom, wearing Dex’s sweatshirt and a pair of his sweatpants. When he handed her a cup of tea, she admitted that she was grateful to have Dex back in her life. He joked that she hadn’t given him a choice about returning to Port Charles, but she reminded him that he could have disappeared again. “Like I said, there was no other choice,” Dex said. Josslyn apologized for how she had acted when she had ended things.
“All I cared about was passing judgment,” Josslyn admitted. Dex insisted that someone had to because he’d forgiven himself too easily, while Josslyn had held him accountable and shown him that he wasn’t the man he wanted to be. Josslyn had learned things, too, and she promised to never take anything for granted. “Especially after today,” she said. Dex and Josslyn shared a passionate kiss, but Dex pulled away before things went too far because he didn’t want to rush her.
Touched, Josslyn told Dex that it was one of the many reasons she trusted him. She confessed that all she'd been able to think about as she'd left the hospital had been how much she loved him and how she had let her pride and self-righteousness get in the way of that. Dex assured Josslyn that he loved her, too. He explained that joining the PCPD and getting his life back on track had been done for him—but also because it was a part of loving her. Josslyn assured him that he didn’t have to prove himself to her, so Dex clarified that he wanted to do it for himself. Dex and Josslyn went to his bedroom and made love.

At the police station, Trina stood in the squad room, watching through the interrogation room’s window as Dante questioned Ava about Kristina’s fall. Chase walked over and asked Trina to follow him. He explained that it would be best if Trina kept her distance from Ava for a bit. “Yeah, of course,” Trina assured him. She asked if there had been any news about Kristina, but Anna appeared and asked Chase to accompany her.
In the interrogation room, Ava noticed Trina watching her, but her attention quickly returned to Dante as he questioned her about the events in her suite before Kristina’s fall. Dante warned Ava that there had been multiple discrepancies in her story. He observed that her suite had been a mess, indicating that a struggle had taken place. Ava told Dante that she was sorry her answers didn’t satisfy him. “But it really did happen that fast,” she said.
Just then, Anna and Chase entered. Anna gently but firmly made it clear that Dante should be at the hospital with his family. Dante was reluctant to leave, but Chase promised to take it from there. After Dante left, Ava feigned compassion for Dante’s situation, but she accused him of trying to “persuade” her to confirm his theory rather than letting Ava explain what had happened. Anna turned things over to Chase, and she left to question Trina.
Chase started a recorder and asked Ava to tell him everything that had transpired between her and Kristina leading up to Kristina’s fall. Ava insisted that it had been a “horrible accident.” She revealed that Kristina had been subpoenaed to testify in Sonny and Ava’s custody hearing, but she was careful to leave out her role in the court summons. Ava claimed that Kristina knew Sonny was too volatile to be around Avery because Kristina had witnessed Sonny “brutally beating” Dex after Chase and Brook Lynn’s wedding reception.
Ava accused Kristina of being out of control when she had arrived at Ava’s suite, and she suggested that Kristina might have bipolar disorder like Sonny. “Manic is the only way that I can describe her,” Ava said. Ava claimed that she had tried to calm Kristina down—even reminding Kristina that being so upset was not good for the baby—but Kristina had continued screaming at Ava. “She wasn’t making any sense,” Ava added.
Ava recalled Kristina threatening to testify that Ava had switched Morgan’s bipolar medication with placebos, triggering a mental breakdown, and that Ava had murdered Connie Falconeri. Ava pushed the memory away as she continued to lie about the confrontation with Kristina. Ava told Chase that she had tried to politely ask Kristina to leave, but Kristina had refused. Ava had a flashback of grabbing Kristina’s arm and Kristina jerking out of Ava’s grip. Chase asked if Ava had attempted to escort or guide Kristina to the door, but Ava assured him that she would never handle a pregnant woman like that.
“Much less one hopped up on adrenaline and rage,” Ava said. Chase asked how Kristina had fallen out the window, so Ava blamed it on a pair of shoes that she’d kicked off earlier. According to Ava, Kristina had been in a “blind rage” and tripped over the shoes. Ava recalled Kristina tripping on John’s bag and stumbling backwards, and later Ava moving the bags during her attempt to cover her tracks. Ava returned to the present as she told Chase that everything had happened too fast for her to react in time to keep Kristina from falling out the window.
In the squad room, Anna asked Trina about what she had witnessed at the pool. Trina recounted that she had heard a scream and seen someone land facedown in the pool. She shared that Josslyn and Gio had jumped into action to help Kristina, and Trina had looked up and seen Ava standing at a broken window. Anna asked if Trina had seen anything else, but Trina explained that Ava had closed the drapes.
When Trina saw Ava exit the interrogation room, she asked if she could talk to Ava. Anna agreed, so Trina walked over and hugged Ava. Ava felt bad that Trina had been pulled into things, but Trina shared that she’d been at the pool when Kristina had landed in the water. “What did you see?” Ava carefully asked. “Almost nothing,” Trina said. However, she added that she’d seen Ava standing at the broken window.
Chase told Anna that he would put a rush on the transcript of Ava’s statement, but he shared that he was certain Ava was hiding something. Anna walked over to Trina and said that she was free to go. Ava offered to buy Trina a coffee, but Anna explained that Ava would need to stay. After Trina left, Ava insisted that she had cooperated and answered all their questions, so she wanted to know if Anna intended to charge her. “Not at this time,” Anna said.
Chase explained that forensics was at Ava’s suite, gathering evidence, but Ava argued that it had been a “slip and fall,” not a crime scene. Annoyed, Ava made it clear that she would not say another word without her lawyer present.
At the hospital, T.J., Jordan, Sonny, and Alexis were gathered in the waiting area while Kristina underwent an emergency surgery to deliver the baby. Natalia and Blaze stood near the elevator as Natalia advised her daughter that they should leave. Blaze objected because Kristina was her girlfriend, but Natalia suggested it was not the place for them. Blaze disagreed because everyone gathered loved Kristina, including Blaze. Natalia pointed out that Blaze and Kristina had been dating for six months, while everyone else was Kristina’s family.
“As close as you feel to her, you’re not,” Natalia said. Natalia thought it would be respectful to let Kristina’s family hold vigil with each other as a family. Blaze didn’t think anyone would mind if she stayed, but Natalia refused to take no for an answer and dragged Blaze to the elevator.
A short time later, Natalia and Blaze arrived at Café Cherie. Natalia ordered a bowl of soup for her daughter because she insisted that Blaze’s blood sugar was crashing. Blaze grumbled that Natalia was a stage mother. Natalia realized that Blaze was still angry with her because she had made Blaze leave the hospital. “For starters,” Blaze said. Natalia promised that the last thing she wanted was to upset her daughter. “Yet you do it so frequently,” Blaze said.
Natalia admitted that she accepted that Blaze and Kristina loved each other, and she had even grown to care about Kristina. Blaze was skeptical because Natalia had a hard time saying that Blaze and Kristina were in a relationship. Natalia insisted she was trying. “Try harder,” Blaze snapped back. Natalia switched gears and asked Blaze to help her understand. “Tell me about you and Kristina,” Natalia asked.
Blaze shared that she had started seeing Kristina around Christmas, but it hadn’t been easy for Blaze because she’d been worried about the reaction of others, including Natalia. “You were afraid I’d judge you?” Natalia asked. Blaze clarified that she’d been afraid that Natalia would stop loving her, because it wouldn’t be the first time a mother had written off their gay child. Natalia was adamant that she would never do that.
Blaze opened up about the first time she and Kristina had held hands in public at Rice Plaza and how special it had been until Blaze had pulled away from Kristina when people Kristina knew had approached them. Blaze admitted that Kristina had called her out on it, and she credited Kristina with helping Blaze to stop hiding who she was and what she wanted. Natalia regretted how she had dismissed Blaze’s feelings for Kristina as a reaction to what Linc Brown had done to Blaze.
Natalia admitted that she hadn’t understood how Blaze had felt because Natalia had thought Blaze was a good girl. “And good girls don’t behave that way,” Natalia said. Blaze asked if Natalia still felt that way. Natalia likened it to learning to write with the left hand again after being forced to write with her right hand her whole life. Natalia confessed that she’d been certain that she’d been right that Blaze had just been going through a phase. “And that gay people aren’t serious?” Blaze asked.
Natalia chuckled because Blaze hadn’t known serious until Blaze had been on the receiving end of Kristina’s outrage. Blaze smiled and nodded in agreement. Blaze shared that Kristina was the most amazing person that Blaze had ever met, and Kristina inspired Blaze every day. When Blaze choked up with emotion at the thought of losing Kristina, Natalia reached out and squeezed her daughter’s hand. Natalia reminded Blaze to have faith.
Blaze admitted that she felt a lot better and thanked her mother for listening. Blaze pointed out that Natalia hadn’t shuddered once when Blaze had called Kristina her girlfriend. Natalia promised that she was trying. “No, you’re succeeding—and that is everything,” Blaze said. Moments later, Jordan called to give Blaze an update.
At the hospital, T.J. broke the news to Molly that Kristina had been hurt and was in surgery, having an emergency cesarean section. Alarmed, Molly asked if her sister and the baby would be okay, but T.J. didn’t have an answer. Alexis walked over and guided Molly to the seating area. Alexis explained that Kristina had fallen multiple stories from Metro Court’s north tower and landed in the pool. Alexis added that Kristina had sustained multiple injuries, so T.J. assured Molly that the surgeon was trying to save both Kristina and the baby.
T.J. admitted that he didn’t understand why Kristina had been at the hotel. Alexis revealed that Dante had told her that Kristina had been in Ava’s suite, but Alexis had no idea why. “I know why,” Molly said as she looked at Sonny.
In Kristina’s hospital room, Kristina’s eyes fluttered open as a nurse assured Dr. Park that Kristina’s vitals had stabilized. Dr. Park wanted Kristina to rest. “I’ll notify the family that the baby didn’t make it,” Dr. Park said. When the nurse realized that Kristina was awake, she alerted Dr. Park. “Where’s my baby?” Kristina asked in a weak voice. Dr. Park explained that he would give Kristina a mild sedative to help her relax, but Kristina wanted to know about the baby.
Dr. Park gently explained that the baby’s injuries had been too severe, and “she” hadn’t survived. Devastated, Kristina tearfully asked to see her sister because she wanted to be the one to tell Molly about the baby. A short time later, Dr. Park approached the family to let everyone know that Kristina was awake and had been moved into ICU. After Dr. Park sent Molly to Kristina’s room, T.J. asked about the baby. Dr. Park revealed that Kristina had sustained an abrupted placenta from the fall, and despite their efforts, they had been unable to save the baby.
Meanwhile, Molly entered Kristina’s room. Kristina’s eyes filled with fresh tears when she saw her sister. Kristina struggled to find the words. “Our precious little girl is gone,” Kristina said in a heartbroken voice. As Molly began to weep, Kristina apologized. Molly stopped Kristina. “You just need to rest,” Molly said.
In the waiting area, Jordan checked on her son. T.J. was reluctant to open up, but Jordan assured him that he could say anything to her, no matter how bad it was. T.J. confided that he couldn’t stop thinking about what Kristina had been doing at Metro Court. Jordan pointed out that T.J. and Molly had suffered a great loss, so T.J. was entitled to his feelings, regardless of what they were. T.J. confessed that his first instinct had been to blame Kristina. “That whatever happened is her fault,” T.J. said.
T.J. revealed that his mind was screaming at him, “I told you so,” because it had warned him not to trust Kristina. T.J. hated it, but his child was gone, and he couldn’t make the anger stop.
Nearby, Dante arrived and asked Alexis about Kristina and the baby. After she shared the heartbreaking news, she went to call Sam. Dante walked over to talk to his father. Sonny accused Ava and “Jagger” of trying to take Avery away from him, and he vowed to make them pay if they had been responsible for Kristina’s situation. When Alexis returned, Dante asked about Sam. Alexis shared that Sam had been devasted.
Moments later, Molly walked out of Kristina’s ICU room. She ran into her mother’s open arms and cried. “The baby was a girl,” Molly said. Molly pulled away and told Alexis that Kristina needed Alexis. Alexis entered Kristina’s room, while T.J. comforted Molly. “We had a daughter?” T.J. asked. “We did,” Molly tearfully replied.
Sonny walked to the door to Kristina’s room, but Molly darted over and blocked the way. She angrily informed Sonny that he was not to go near her sister because Sonny was the reason that Kristina had nearly died. Sonny denied it, but Molly told him that Kristina had gone to see Ava because Ava had subpoenaed Kristina to testify at the custody hearing. Molly explained that Ava had wanted Kristina to tell the world what a violent thug Sonny was and to share the details of Sonny’s attack on a police cadet at a wedding reception.
Sonny told Molly that he was sorry for the loss of her daughter, but he didn’t know what he would do if anything happened to Kristina. Furious, Molly insisted that Kristina had gone to see Ava because of Sonny. “Kristina almost died because of you! My daughter is dead because of you!” Molly angrily shouted. Shaken, Sonny walked away.
After Jordan called Blaze, she pulled Dante aside to ask him about the investigation, but Dante reminded her that he couldn’t share any information because she was a family member. Jordan pointed out that Dante was also family, so he conceded that he’d been sidelined from the investigation.
Nearby, Molly and T.J. comforted each other as they grieved the loss of their daughter.
In Kristina’s room, Alexis hugged her daughter and assured Kristina that they would get through the loss together. Kristina’s eyes suddenly drifted closed, and the alarms on her monitors blared. Alexis ran out of the room, calling for help.
On the hospital’s rooftop, Sonny stood by the ledge as his thoughts drifted to a recent argument with Dante when Dante had confronted Sonny about attacking Dex. Sonny had accused Dante of forsaking him, but Dante had argued that he’d been trying to save his father. However, Dante was done protecting Sonny, and it was time for Sonny to face the consequences of his crimes.
Sonny’s thoughts turned to Kristina and how upset she’d been when she’d seen him beat up Dex and how she'd fled to the bathroom in fear. Sonny recalled assuring Kristina that she had no reason to fear him, but Kristina had tearfully asked her father to leave. Sonny also recalled Josslyn angrily confronting him about what he’d done to Dex and shouting that she hated Sonny. Next, Sonny remembered Anna warning him that his days of getting away with crimes were over.
Finally, Molly’s recent accusations rang in Sonny’s ears as he looked over the ledge at the street below.
