In their new apartment, Trina questioned Josslyn when Josslyn arrived home, wearing the same clothing that she'd been wearing the day before. Josslyn admitted that she'd spent the night with Dex, and she offered an update on her boyfriend. He'd finally graduated from the police academy and was officially a Port Charles police officer.

Josslyn questioned why a cop car was outside the Quartermaine grounds, so Trina explained that John had been murdered at the boathouse. Before they could discuss the matter further, Gio arrived to get away from the chaos in the main house. Gio told them all about Tracy melting down because two dinner guests had used her bed. Josslyn asked who, so Gio told her. "It was my Uncle Sonny and your mom," Gio said.

Josslyn was sure Gio had to be wrong, so Gio tried backtracking, saying he might have heard wrong or misunderstood. Josslyn immediately left in a huff. When she arrived at the main house, Olivia spotted her and talked with Josslyn in the foyer. Olivia was forced to tell Josslyn that what Gio had said about Sonny and Carly was true, to the best of Olivia's knowledge.

When Josslyn returned to the apartment, Trina quickly told Gio he had to go. Josslyn text-messaged Carly. Josslyn lamented that Carly was reading her text messages without responding.

Meanwhile, Carly woke in Sonny's penthouse and poured herself a cup of coffee. Sonny asked how she had slept, so Carly told him sleep wasn't easy when she feared being an accessory to murder. Sonny assured Carly that neither one of them would be arrested.

Carly was angry at herself for agreeing to be Sonny's alibi before knowing that John had been murdered. Carly insisted that she didn't want to end up any deeper into Sonny's legal mess. Carly wanted to leave, but Sonny seemed to want to have her around and asked why she was in such a hurry. "Am I so terrible?" Sonny asked.

Carly admitted that she still loved Sonny but insisted they were done. Sonny agreed but didn't see a problem with continuing their act. Carly worried about their family learning what she and Sonny were up to. Diane soon arrived. As soon as she looked at Carly standing there in Sonny's T-shirt, she said, "Oh, no."

Sonny and Carly told Diane the story they'd told the Quartermaines, but Diane didn't buy it. Diane immediately knew that the story was a cover because Sonny had killed John. "I don't think I can sell this rekindled relationship to anyone," Diane said. Carly insisted that one night didn't constitute a relationship.

Carly was beside herself when Diane told Carly and Sonny that they needed to pretend to have a full-blown affair in order for Sonny's alibi to work. Diane then told Sonny that Kristina was out of the woods because Ava had recanted her statement. When Carly finally left, she encountered an angry Josslyn in the hall. Back in the apartment, Sonny called Jason to report that he had a problem; one of Sonny's guns was missing.

In the Quartermaine living room, the family sat around eating breakfast and discussing John's murder. Tracy used her usual sarcasm to make light of John's death until Brook Lynn and Olivia reminded her it was a tragedy. Tracy went on to complain about how disheveled her bed had been when she had retired for the night.

"You know, a couple of our guests did come downstairs last night, looking a little musk," Lois said, referring to Sonny and Carly. Hearing that caused Tracy to nearly choke on her orange juice. The family was amused as Ned asked Tracy to stop being so dramatic. As Tracy announced that she would never eat again, Gio answered the door to a woman who quickly accused Olivia of not pronouncing "croissant" correctly.

The woman immediately identified the exact Bensonhurst neighborhood that Olivia was from based on Olivia's intonation. Lois asked who the young woman was, so the woman introduced herself. "I'm Robin Finch, dialect theorist, and tutor to the stars. And you must be Lois Cerullo, my new student," Ms. Finch said.

Lois said she hadn't hired Ms. Finch, so Tracy piped up and announced that she had. Tracy explained that Lois' speech and presentation affected Deception sales, so she thought it was important to hire a dialect coach. "I believe our numbers will improve if Lois' rough edges are smoothed out," Tracy said.

Lois admitted that the Home and Heart caller had gotten to her a bit, but Ned rose to Lois' defense. "Lois Cerullo is a proud Brooklynite who's never let anyone condescend to her. Not my grandfather, Katherine Bell, or my mother," Ned declared.

Ms. Finch insisted she only wanted to empower Lois—but only if Lois wanted her to. Lois finally agreed to work with Ms. Finch.

At the Jerome Gallery, Nina and Ava went over Ava's recent ordeal. Ava lamented that she still needed a lawyer, so Nina presented her with one when Nina's ex-husband Ric walked in. Nina was surprised to learn that Ava and Ric knew one another. Ric and Ava explained that Ric had represented Ava's brother, Julian, in the past.

Ric wasn't sure he wanted to take Ava's case. Nina asked why he'd even met with them if he wasn't going to represent Ava. Ric explained that he had wanted to know what the case was about. Since he knew it had to do with Kristina, Ric wasn't interested. Nina said she hadn't even told him who the client would be.

Nina insisted that Ric owed her a favor for "trying to rob me blind during our mercifully short marriage." Ric explained that the case involved the death of his granddaughter, so he wasn't about to get involved.

After Ric left, Ava wondered if she should just skip town. Nina argued that Ava couldn't go on the run and become a fugitive. Ava said it would be better than going to jail. Nina reminded Ava that she had Avery to think about. Ava agreed that Avery was a good reason to stick around.

Ava asked why Nina even wanted to help her. Nina told Ava to thank Willow, as she'd given Nina a second chance, so Nina was giving Ava one.

At General Hospital, Elizabeth and T.J. discussed Isaiah's case as he lay unconscious in a hospital room. Elizabeth said Isaiah wasn't comatose, but he hadn't woken up since he'd arrived except to open his eyes briefly the night before. T.J. thought the eye-opening could have been caused by a seizure.

In the hallway, Dante and Jordan had a chat about Lulu's condition. Jordan said she had spoken to Laura, and Laura would let her know if she had any leads on Lucky. Dante admitted he felt useless and wished he could be in Somalia, helping Laura.

When T.J. joined Jordan and Dante, he offered them an update on Isaiah's condition. Jordan was still determined to learn John Doe's real name, so she said she planned to contact the WSB. Dante didn't think the WSB would be interested in the case.

Later, Dante drove to the scene of the accident and found Isaiah's phone.

Back at the hospital, Elizabeth was tending to Isaiah when a man in scrubs sneaked into the room. The man claimed to be an orderly who was there to clean, but Elizabeth informed him that he needed to return later because Isaiah had to rest.

A short time later, the man called Sidwell to report in and get his next orders. "Understood. He will never wake up," the assassin said.

While T.J. went over some charts at the nurses' station, Ric approached him. Ric said he was worried about Molly, as he knew she was putting on a brave face for him. T.J. explained to Ric that he and Molly were dealing with their loss differently. Molly wanted to see someone punished, but T.J. wanted to move on. "There's no Irene at the end of the road. It just circles and leads to more pain," T.J. said.

After his talk with T.J., Ric pulled Elizabeth aside and asked if she had heard about John's murder. Ric was concerned because they had witnessed Alexis throw the gun off the bridge. Elizabeth didn't want to get involved, but Ric pointed out that they had witnessed a crime. Elizabeth didn't think there had been any proof that Alexis had committed a crime, but Ric said if the gun was a murder weapon, then disposing of it was indeed a crime. Ric wanted them to go to the police together and tell the cops what they'd seen.

At Alexis' house, Diane apologized for not getting back to Alexis the previous night. "Jason's snafus present themselves at all hours," Diane said. Diane informed Alexis that Ava had recanted her statement about Kristina trying to kill her, but Alexis was confused.

Diane explained that John had tried to have Ava killed by hiring someone to take Ava to the Pine Barrens, but Jason had rescued Ava. Diane was surprised that Alexis wasn't more thrilled for Kristina. "The fact that she's out from under one murder charge and is possibly liable for another doesn't make me want to dance," Alexis said.

Later, Diane advised Alexis to put on her lawyer hat and find out what she could from Kristina. When Diane was gone, Kristina appeared at the bottom of the stairs and asked why Diane had been there.

Alexis informed Kristina that Ava had recanted her statement. Alexis also revealed that John had been killed. "Yeah, I heard. One down, one to go," Kristina nonchalantly said.

Alexis expressed discomfort with how callous Kristina had been about a human being's death, but Kristina didn't care. When Alexis asked if Kristina had killed John, Kristina was offended. "No, I didn't kill him, but you think I did," she said. Kristina reiterated that she had been at the baby's grave. "The part you forgot to tell me was that you had a gun with you," Alexis countered.

Kristina insisted that she had never used the gun. Alexis broke down in tears, telling Kristina that she had feared Kristina had planned to hurt herself. Kristina apologized for worrying Alexis. Kristina explained that she had retrieved the gun from Sonny's safe. When Kristina asked Alexis to return the gun to her, Alexis informed Kristina that she'd thrown the gun off the footbridge.
