Is Valentin leaving General Hospital? The fate of the character, explored

General Hospital is a daytime America Soap Opera that premiered first on April 1, 1963, on ABC network. The show is one of the longest in the television soap history. Set in the fictional city of Port Charles. Valentin Cassadine portrayed by actor James Patrick since 2016, has been a common face in the show that fans are accustomed to seeing on the screen, fans like the complex and shady storyline that the character brings.

But considering recent instances in the show fans and critics have been wondering if Valentin is leaving General Hospital. As of the current storyline, there is no confirmation from the creators or the actor, about him making his exit.

The recent episode of GH that aired on June 17 has again put the actor in a complex situation, where Anna finds out that Valentin had ordered a hitman to cause Sonny harm and turns him to the FBI. Now, Valentin is only left with two options in front of him, either to spend the rest of his time in prison or make a run to ditch the situation, leaving everything concerning his regular life in Port Charles.

Why is the FBI behind Valentin in General Hospital?

General Hospital’s recent episode has exposed Valentin as the mastermind behind Pikeman. Jason already had doubts about Valentin and his involvement with the illegal arms running scandal in the city of Port Charles, this was the same scandal that was involved in the failed attempt to assassinate Sonny Corinthos.

To understand the situation better, Anna got her hands on the files that proved Valentin was indeed in charge of Pikeman to free Jason from the thumbs of Agent John “Jagger” Cates.

Upon further investigation, she finds the ammo against Valentin that confirms her doubts. This leaves her in two minds either to expose Valentin for whom she has deep feelings, or to lay the blame on someone else so that Valentin can make his escape.

Anna then asks Valentin to make a run with his daughter Charlotte and start his new life somewhere else away from Port Charles. Valentin also asks Anna to join the father-daughter pair but Anna says that she needs to stay behind.

Why did Valentin get involved with the Pikeman?

In previous episodes of General Hospital viewers were shown John Cate finding fabricated emails between Anna and Brennan. This led to him thinking that Anna was the one involved with Pikeman, but actually, Brennan was Valentin himself.

He wrote the emails in such a manner that there would be no evidence the court could hold against her.

Valentin had no intention of having Anna involved, he had in fact in a way used her, but Valentin told her, that if there was any amount of good left in him it was because of Anna.

The couple expressed their love for each other before Anna asked him to leave with Charlotte. Though she let him escape, the FBI was still on their way to get hold of the man behind Pikeman.
