Is it time for Valentin Cassadine to return to General Hospital?

It's been nearly five months since General Hospital fans have seen Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and his teenage daughter, Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez). However, with Charlotte's mother no longer in a coma, we could see the return of the man who was once considered the most evil Cassadine of them all.

Anna's deep regrets

Almost as soon as Anna (Finola Hughes) informed Valentin that the FBI was after him and he needed to skip town with Charlotte immediately, she regretted that move. Within days, Laura (Genie Francis) learned that Lulu (Alexa Havins) needed a liver transplant or she would die and begged Anna to tell her where Valentin was.

The problem was Anna didn't know and only passively tried to find out. She's gone to Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) a few times here and there and asked him if he knew of Valentin's whereabouts but never got an answer. With Lulu now awake and demanding to see her daughter, Anna feels more desperate than ever to track down Valentin and bring Charlotte home to be with her mother.

Anna is set to pull out all the stops and do everything she has to to get the information she knows Jack has. After all, he and Valentin are old pals from way back, and she is sure he helped Valentin find a safe space to stay where he and Scarlett could blend in and never be found.

A General Hospital return engagement?

If Anna does find Valentin and Charlotte, does that mean Valentin will return to Port Charles with his daughter, or will he send Charlotte home to have a stable life with her mother and brother?

Actor James Patrick Stuart no longer lives in Los Angeles and has chronicled his move to Oregon on social media, but that does not mean he can't make a limited return engagement to the Port Charles scene. Throughout his eight-year run on the soap, Stuart never signed a contract and remained a recurring player by choice. It allowed him the option to work on other projects like Disney's Villains of Valley View. Recurring status could also allow him to live someplace other than L.A. and still bring Valentin to life every once in a while.

When Valentin left, there was still unfinished business between him and Anna. At the time, Soap Opera Digest reported that Stuart and Valentin were not gone for good, so it's very possible Helena (Constance Towers) and Victor Cassadine's (Charles Shaughnessy) son could be on his way home to his "darling" Anna and bring Charlotte back to reunite with Lulu.
