Are parenting dreams really over for this General Hospital pair?

At one time, it seemed inconceivable that General Hospital's Molly would be desperate for a child. She had never been a traditionalist and didn't even want to marry T.J. Instead, they had a a commitment ceremony and became domestic partners rather than husband and wife.

Molly missed a period last year and thought she might be pregnant. She learned she wasn't, and both Molly and T.J. were heartbroken. They realized they really did want to become parents. Discovering she had endometriosis and that it was nearly impossible for her to conceive broke Molly's heart, but she and T.J. almost immediately decided to use a surrogate to have their much-wanted child.

After their original surrogate lost the baby, Molly and T.J. took Kristina up on her offer to become both a surrogate and egg donor, despite having reservations about the decision. The pregnancy seemed to be going perfectly until Kristina chose to confront Ava over a subpoena to testify against Sonny in a custody fight for ten-year-old Avery. Ava and Kristina's argument led to Kristina tripping over a duffel bag and falling through the window into the pool below.

Tragically, the baby died shortly after birth due to head trauma from the plunge. Now, Kristina wants revenge against Ava, Molly realizes that Kristina might bear some blame for the fall, and T.J. is lost because his daughter died.

It seems that Molly and T.J.'s dream to have a child is lost, but is it? While they may not want to put themselves through another surrogacy scenario, there are still two storyline threads out there that can turn them into parents.

A lying surrogate

When Andrea, Molly and T.J.'s first surrogate, told T.J. that she had lost the baby, it seemed strange to fans that she got confirmation at another hospital when she had been using General Hospital doctors. Molly and T.J. didn't even look into her medical records, and they took Andrea at her word that she'd suffered a miscarriage.

Could Andrea have been lying? Perhaps she decided she didn't want to give up the child that was biologically hers and told Molly and T.J. the baby had died so she could keep the child for herself.

Maybe Molly and/or T.J. might run into Andrea one day with a child who could be just the right age. The baby could also have a medical crisis that forces Andrea to tell the truth about the baby who is biologically T.J.'s.

A miracle pregnancy for Molly

While Molly's doctor told her it would be extremely difficult for her to become pregnant due to severe endometriosis, she never said it was impossible. Earlier this summer, GH made a big deal out of Molly and T.J. making love after they had not been together for months due to stress over Kristina's pregnancy.

Could that one night have resulted in a miracle pregnancy? Molly might not even realize she is pregnant at first, as she'd mentioned that her periods are sometimes irregular. While that seems like a little too convenient of a story after all the heartache Molly and T.J. have gone through, it could also be an emotionally satisfying tale for fans of one of the most enduring pairings GH has.
