What preemptions?! A look back at some classic General Hospital Two Scoops columns
One General Hospital episode plus four preemptions equals...

What do you do when General Hospital is only shown once per week? Sob? Scream? Probably, but you also take a look back at some fun throwback Two Scoops commentaries to see how things have (or haven't) changed.

For more than half a century, we've become accustomed to seeing General Hospital five times each week. Perhaps we've even taken it for granted. Last week, viewers had only one chance to see what kind of dysfunction was playing out for the Quartermaines, the Corinthoseseses, and everyone else in town. But just because the show wasn't on the air, it doesn't mean that we weren't still thinking about them.

Just as you've gotten used to seeing B&B every weekday, you've probably been looking forward to a new Two Scoops column each week on Soap Central. We won't be posting a brand-new column, but we did think back to some of our past columns. Can you remember the big stories of Sweeps 2005? What was happening in Port Charles in 2010? Were the residents misbehaving in 2015? (Spoiler alert: They were.) Links and summaries to those throwback columns follow below. Oh, and if you want to read the most recent column based on the last full week of soaps, you can read that here.

A WELL-STOCKED CRYPT (For the Week of January 31, 2005)

The teaser: You know, when we think of a crypt, we don't usually consider there being all kinds of resources lying around that you could use to send smoke signals if ever you were kidnapped and locked inside by a maniac. Shows what we know. Our columnist shares some new insight into what it means to be stuck in a crypt as well as some of the other goings-on in Port Charles.

Why it's still relevant: Those crazy Cassadines were causing trouble 15 years ago (and probably the 15 years before that and for 15 years after 2020)

Revisit everything else that was going on in this classic Two Scoops.

UN-LUCKY IN LOVE (For the Week of January 25, 2010)

The teaser: When the big "Lucky Switcharoo" happened, our columnist was delighted that Jonathan Jackson was back in the role of Lucky and said so. Some of you were not at all delighted about the change and let us know that you wholeheartedly disagreed.

Why it's still relevant: A lot of General Hospital fans are begging ABC to bring Lucky back to Port Charles.

THINGS THAT GO "BOOM!" IN THE NIGHT (For the Week of February 2, 2015)

The teaser: Prison breaks? Mental hospital manicures? Charred pumpkin heads with bombs in their laps? Crowbars to the skull? A bright red bomb countdown clock haphazardly placed behind some Champagne bottles that no one sees?

Why it's still relevant: Another February Sweeps is here... and people are still shooting and blowing things up in Port Charles

Get ready to sit on the edge of your seat as we go back five years in time in this classic Two Scoops.

What are your thoughts on General Hospital? What did you think of these Two Scoops? We want to hear from you -- and there are many ways you can share your thoughts.
