General Hospital star Parry Shen is finally getting into his groove as Brad Cooper since he realized he could blackmail the hospital’s co-chief of staff, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), into approving his reacquired position as a lab technician.
Shen has also been enjoying life as a horror movie star. Having appeared in all of the Hatchet series of films, he also attends horror conventions and recently shared the fun time he had at one.
Horror Ruled the Weekend
Shen appeared ScareFest Weekend 16 in Lexington, Kentucky, and took to Instagram to post several photos that he assembled in a montage to the song Glamorous by Fergie and Ludacris. He captioned it:

Thank you all who I met at ScareFest! An amazing weekend seeing old friends, making new ones and hearing so many stories of how much the Hatchet films, Brad, Takeda, The New Guy, Sleeping Dogs & BLT, have meant to you all and forever exist as treasured pieces in your lives!
Shen then explained his gratitude for being part of another major fan base, horror movies, and explained his influences to become an entertainer:
I became an actor because I have films/tv shows that I always watch over and over again - and to know that I am a part of that for someone else, humbles me to no end & warms my heart. 🙏. Thank you @scarefestweekend and @thescarletabbeybookings for making this happen! And to Jason & the bartenders at @bourbononrye for taking care of us! 🍸 🥃.
According to its Instagram bio, Bourbon on Rye is:
Lexington’s prohibition-era restaurant & bar 🥃. Serving small plates, cocktails & 100+ bourbons.”
Clearly, that’s where Shen hung out after a day or two of running his convention booth. He was a guest among several major horror stars including actors and creators from several franchises like Phantasm, Fright Night, and Friday the 13th.
Joining in on the fun were Shen’s General Hospital co-star Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing) and alum Dee Wallace who played Patricia Spencer, and is best known for her films The Howling, and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial among dozens of others. Hearst also has some major horror cred having starred in Frank Henenlotter’s 1988 cult classic, Brain Damage.
The pics in Shen’s montage were numerous and included him autographing merchandise, meeting fans, and even photo ops with fans. @velvet_navy_moon was ecstatic that he included a photo with them, responding:
Omg that's me and my kiddo!! Thank you for everything this weekend Parry!
A fan going by @fleck.noah was truly excited, writing:
It was great meeting you and you are lucky to be in all the Hatchet photo ops.
@cithr26, a die-hard fan, was floored to have met Shen and responded:
Was such an honor to have a drink with you and @adam_fn_green Saturday night. Glad you had a good weekend brother!!
We’re hoping Shen continues his work on General Hospital as well as horror films and enjoys sharing his fantastic moments with the fans.
You can watch Perry Shen on General Hospital weekdays on ABC and Hulu.
