Kin Shriner, who plays the wacky (albeit currently MIA) Scotty Baldwin on General Hospital, has paid another homage to Old Hollywood. He recently shared a photo of his dad Herb Shriner in an ad for the 1950s game show Two for the Money, showing his deep Hollywood roots. Continuing his exploration into his past and his connection with Tinseltown, he shared a fun montage on social media.
Hollywood go lightly
General Hospital’s Kin Shriner wrote on Instagram, “It all used to start with a proof sheet and hopes and then keeping going in Hollywood!!! And staying on the menu!!!” His words were an encouragement of perseverance, which is especially helpful for actors who must endure audition after audition until they finally get a job.

Shriner also included a video set to the tune of Rod Stewart’s hit song Forever Young, and the clip was a montage of photos and magazine images of Shriner from back in the day. One of the pics was a full-page magazine spread of stars from yesteryear.
Shriner was, of course, among such greats as John Travolta, Scott Baio, Chris Atkins, Leif Garrett, John Schneider, and fellow soap star Michael Damian, who continues to play Danny Romalotti on The Young and the Restless. The article was titled “Those Gorgeous Guys and How They Get That Way.”
Each celebrity photo had stats beneath them, and Shriner’s read: “Kin Shriner. Physical Characteristic: Broad Shoulders - Just right for resting your head on! Personality Trait: That Special Combination…sweet and sexy at the same time. Staying-in-Shape Secret: All kinds of exercises…jogging, basketball, and boxing.” It looks like a page from a popular 70s teen magazine like Dynamite or Tiger Beat.
The fans truly enjoyed seeing shots of Shriner from the past. @purplekellym had a very verbose, but heartfelt response: “You are deeply missed on General Hospital! You are a legendary icon. I'm praying for your return! You are one of the originals! You're an amazing talented actor! General Hospital has been making poor decisions, and I’m praying that my all time favorite show still continues, but the executives and producers need to fix this! They need to bring you back and Kelly Monaco and the others to get our show great again!”
@alison1b replied, “My bedroom wall used to be covered in all of those photos!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.” The love for Shriner kept pouring in with @damos4503 commenting, “You brought humor to GH. Scott was a truly unique character played by a great actor. You and Lynn were fantastic and I miss your very much. ❤️.”
