General Hospital's Carly feels herself getting in too deep with Jack Brennan and is running scared. Her feelings for the man are too strong and she is sure she can't have a casual relationship with him. However, that's only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Jack and Carly's love story.
Jack's big secret can change everything

While Carly worries that Jack might be commitment-phobic, she has no idea that he sent her college-age daughter to a WSB training center at an undisclosed location. He also led Josslyn (Eden McCoy) right to Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), leading Josslyn to kill the madman. It was her very first murder and Jack was so impressed he recruited her to be a secret agent.
Carly thinks that Josslyn is off on an environmental science trip on Easter Island as part of her college studies. Jack is determined to keep the truth under wraps, which may come back to bite him sooner rather than later.
"I don’t know what the hell he’s thinking!" Chris McKenna told Soap Opera Digest in an interview. "Carly is not gonna like this, obviously...But he clearly needs Josslyn for some particular reason and she’s uniquely suited for it. So, for the greater good, he has to do what has to be done, even if that means quite possibly betraying Carly. We can all see where that might go and the possible explosion that could happen at the end of this trail. I don’t know where it’s going myself, but I’m excited to find out."
A General Hospital journey

When Jack first arrived in Port Charles in the fall of 2023, he never expected to fall for Carly Spencer, but she caught his eye the minute he ordered a burger at Bobbie's. Even when Jack was behind bars in Pentonville, Carly couldn't keep herself from visiting this intriguing man.
They finally shared their first kiss in Germany at the end of January. Just days later, McKenna took over the role from Charles Mesure and had to jump right into a burgeoning on-screen romance. Although the first scenes he taped weren't the first ones to air, they did air during the most romantic time of year.
"We shot some things out of order, so the first thing we had to shoot was the Valentine’s Day episode and we immediately had to go right into the heavy romance," McKenna admitted. "That could have been a challenge, but it was so much fun and [Laura Wright] made it great."
That moment might have been the calm before the storm considering Jack was called away from Carly's place because Josslyn was in a cabin in the woods with a gun confronting a serial killer.
