Alexis brought Sam some Halloween candy. Sam was pleased to learn that both Alexis and Dante had bought candy for the trick-or-treaters, so there was definitely enough. Alexis commented on how good Sam looked after just having surgery, even saying that she was glowing.

Sam was glad to hear that Lulu's surgery went well. "Considering that I'm fine and Lulu has hope, I think it's cause for a celebration," Sam declared before pulling out her hand to show off her new engagement ring. Alexis was thrilled for Sam, and the mother and daughter embraced in tears.

Alexis said she felt that Dante was Sam's perfect match. Sam admitted that her life and Dante's life just fit together.

Dante took Rocco for lunch to give his son some news: He asked Sam to marry him, and Sam said yes. Rocco didn't seem thrilled and said he was surprised that Dante had proposed. "What about Mom?" Rocco asked. Dante reminded Rocco of how sad life was before Sam came along and how they were stuck. Rocco agreed. "Sam unstuck us," Rocco admitted.

Jason arrived at the hospital with Danny and Scout. Danny gave Scout a hard time because she was already wearing her Olympic swimmer Halloween costume. Jason warned Scout that Sam might seem tired when they saw her. Jason took the kids to get sandwiches, and Scout had grilled cheese ready to give to her mom because she was a hero. "Your mom is one of the bravest people I know," Jason agreed.

As Danny and Scout argued, Jason saw Elizabeth and Portia run as an alarm began to go off. Alexis soon appeared with a worried look on her face, and Jason knew there was something very wrong with Sam. He quickly told Danny to take Scout to Bobbie's and wait for him. Scout didn't want to go, but Danny convinced her they could get cookies for Sam. Jason asked Alexis what was wrong, but she did not know.

Alexis told Jason that one moment Sam was fine, and then she wasn't. "One second, she's happy about her future, and the next second, her face just went completely white, and she couldn't breathe. She looked at me, and she was confused. And I didn't know what to do because I didn't understand. I'm scared," Alexis said.

In Sam's room, Portia did chest compressions while Lucas used the defibrillator as Sam crashed. They wondered what had happened as her vitals had been fine. Portia said it could have been an embolism. The medical team did all they could for Sam, but finally, Portia told Lucas it was time. A tearful Lucas insisted that Sam was still there. Finally, Lucas did what he had to do. "Time of death. 5:48 PM," he said.

Trina stopped by Portia's office to ask if the rumor was true — did Heather Webber really leave Port Charles? Portia assured her it was really true, which was a relief for Trina. She asked if her mother had anything to do with Heather choosing to leave. Portia denied any involvement so Trina moved on to telling Portia how great school was going.

Willow paced her living room while leaving a voicemail for Nina, saying that Michael hadn't come home the night before. Drew soon appeared at her front door, much to Willow's dismay. "Why would you come here?" she asked. Drew wanted to apologize, but Willow told him to just leave in case Michael came home and saw Drew there.

Drew offered to help Willow find Michael, but Willow told him that would be a bad idea. "Stay away from Michael. And from me. My marriage cannot take any more of your help," Willow said.

Willow informed Drew that Nina was there last night and told Willow everything, but Drew wasn't sure what everything meant. He was relieved to learn that Nina hadn't told Willow that Nina and Drew had been sleeping together for months. Willow was confused about why Drew told Michael before she had a chance. "After all the times you told me not to, you went ahead and did it anyway," Willow said.

Drew told Willow he had no choice because Ned and Tracy were blackmailing him because they knew Drew and Willow had kissed. Drew felt he had to tell Michael so Ned and Tracy would have nothing on him. Willow knew that Sasha had to be the one to have told Cody the truth.

Willow said she wanted to tell Michael about the second kiss, but Drew had talked her out of it.

Sasha woke up naked in a Metro Court hotel room bed. She remembered drinking at the Brown Dog the night before. When she turned around, she saw Michael in bed with her. Sasha flashed back to seeing Michael at the bar. One thing led to another, and that's how they ended up in bed.

When Michael woke, he was shocked to see Sasha there. They both donned robes and discussed what happened. They agreed that they were both to blame but Sasha had a confession to make. "When you told me about Willow and Drew, I already knew," Sasha said.

Sasha explained how she saw Drew and Willow kissing on the Fourth of July. Michael understood why Sasha didn't tell him. She was just trying to protect her best friend. "This isn't on you. Willow and Drew are the ones that put you in that position, to begin with," Michael pointed out.

Sasha stressed to Michael that Willow had been beating herself up about the kiss ever since. However, Sasha didn't stop there and accidentally mentioned that Willow confided in her about a second kiss — one that Michael was unaware of until now.

An outraged Michael declared that Willow made a choice the second time. That kiss wasn't something that just happened. Sasha defended Willow, pointing out that they know what could happen when you get caught up in a moment. Both agreed that Drew was more to blame for everything that happened than anyone else.

James, dressed as Woody from Toy Story, found Cody hung over on the living room couch. James asked why Cody didn't tell him they were having a sleepover, and she offered Cody a gummy worm. When James asked what Cody was going as for Halloween, Maxie chimed in with, "Someone who made a big mistake last night." James needed to know what mistake Cody made, but before he could answer, James' ride to a party arrived.

Once alone, Maxie served Cody coffee and begged him not to throw up on her rug. She also told Cody that Mac brought him to her house so she could talk some sense into him. Maxie admitted she knew that Sasha was Cody's cousin and they couldn't be together. "What? Was it published in the Invader or something?"

Maxie explained that Holly was friends with Felicia and told them both that she was Sasha's mother. Maxie wanted to be sure and Sasha confirmed the truth. Cody admitted that punched that "smarmy" Drew Quartermaine right in his face. Maxie didn't understand why Cody went after Drew of all people.

Cody explained that Drew was not just sleeping with Nina, but he had kissed Willow. "Quartermaine's not a good guy, but nobody knows. Nobody knows he's sleazing around with his nephew's wife while sleeping with her mom. And he's running for Congress at the same time...I just wanted to pull him down from that pedestal that he put himself on. Throw him in the gutter where he belongs."
