The Ashfords and those assembled at The Savoy were stunned when Ric told them that Heather's sentence would be vacated and she would be a free woman by the next day. Portia immediately broke down and started screaming at Ric. Curtis quickly blamed Ric as he defended himself. He didn't think the judge would set Heather free.
Curtis asked Ric to tell him what he thought would happen. Ric believed Heather would have been sent to a mental health facility or a minimum security prison. Ric asked Portia and Trina to remember that Heather no longer had cobalt poisoning, so she was likely no longer a threat. That was of no comfort to the Ashfords. "Thank you for unleashing a monster and knowingly putting my daughter's life at risk," Poria snapped.
"I swear to you, this is not what I wanted," Ric said breathlessly. Curtis accused Ric of just wanting money. He knew Heather's freedom would help Ric win a windfall from the medical device company that made Heather's artificial hip.
Molly stepped in to try to diffuse the situation. "Blaming my father isn't the answer," Molly said. She pointed out that the judge was the one who made the decision, which he was within his rights to do. TJ was just as furious as Portia, Curtis, and Trina. He couldn't believe Molly was defending Ric. TJ angrily ran out of the nightclub, prompting Ric to leave with Molly.

Portia and Curtis insisted Trina come home with them, but Trina refused. Curtis and Portia were not about to take no for an answer and told their daughter they would all be safer under one roof. Trina rightly pointed out that Heather hadn't even been released yet, so there was nothing to worry about that night. However, she also didn't want to hide and cower.
"I spent a year being terrified of a psychopath murderer, letting Heather and Esme control my every move. I just refuse to go back to that," Trina said.
After Trina went home, Portia addressed the elephant in the room. "You know what I want to ask that judge? If Trina were Molly or Josslyn Jacks, would his decision be the same? If a young white woman was the obsession of a serial killer and not a young Black woman, would that killer be going free right now?" she asked Curtis.
"Unfortunately, we both know the answer to that question," Curtis sadly said. Portia was heartbroken that a young Black woman wasn't valued as much as a white woman. She was determined to send Trina out of town to protect her. Curtis countered that Trina would never want to leave. "Trina isn't leaving Port Charles. Heather is. Heather Webber is never going to be a problem again," Curtis promised.
When Trina returned home, she heard a knock on the door. Trina immediately grabbed a kitchen item she could use as a weapon but her visitor turned out to be Gio. Gio stopped by to be the friend she needed at the moment. Gio thought that Trina could express her emotions through music as he did.
Josslyn and Dex went back to Dex's apartment. Josslyn was disturbed by the idea of Heather being released, considering Heather tried to kill her but ended up killing Britt instead. Josslyn pointed out that Trina was Heather's main target.
She couldn't imagine how her friend might be feeling. Josslyn even acknowledged that Britt saved her life that night, along with Dex. "Do you ever wish that you killed her?" Josslyn asked. "All the time," Dex replied before adding, "If Heather even thinks about hurting you, it will be the last thing she ever does," Josslyn asked Dex not to risk his career for her.
At her apartment, Molly asked Ric to leave before TJ got home and saw him there. Ric questioned Molly on how she and TJ were getting along. She admitted they often avoided each other. Ric also thanked Molly for defending him. "You didn't have to," Ric said.
Molly countered with, "For the record, you didn't have to take Heather's case." Molly hoped that Ric was right about Heather and that "she can be a functioning member of society."
Molly then changed the subject to another one of Ric's cases and pointed out that it was not too late to drop Ava as a client. "Why should I drop Ava as a client?" Ric asked.
Molly was incredulous as she said Ava was the reason her baby was dead. Ric didn't think that was the case and told Molly his real reasons for defending Ava. "Molly, I'm not doing this for Ava. I'm doing this for you," Ric said.
Ric explained to Molly that her vengeance scared her. "That's me, Molly. It's a part I never wanted to see in my little girl...I have made mistakes in my life, all of them driven by this need to get what I was owed. I am not saying that I am past that intention now, but I am learning to distinguish when it is destructive," Ric said.
Ric told Molly it was his job to present the facts of the case so that she believed Kristina's fall was an accident. "I have to prove this to you, Molly, so you can move on and heal," Ric stressed.
Ric finally got Molly to break down about everything going wrong in her life, including her tension-filled relationship with TJ. Ric insisted that Kristina's fall wasn't Ava's fault until Molly angrily asked him to leave.
Isaiah approached Lucas in the staff lounge to ask him if he was ready for the transplant surgery the next day. Lucas was impressed that Isaiah had performed liver transplants on patients with portal vein thrombosis and asked Isaiah to walk him through his strategy. Isaiah was more concerned with Lucas scrubbing in on a transplant that involved his own sister and cousin.
Lucas told Isaiah that it wasn't his choice, but Sam insisted. Lucas wasn't even nervous, but he felt Isaiah might be. After all, Isaiah hadn't operated in years, "and now you're signing onto a transplant that has a very high likelihood of failure."
After Isaiah left, TJ joined Lucas in the lounge because he said it was a better option than going home. "At least I'm not at a bar," TJ said before lamenting his relationship problems. He couldn't believe Molly showed more emotion defending Ric than she had in the aftermath of the baby's death. Although Lucas' situation was different, he told TJ he had experience with losing a child and its effects on a relationship.
Sonny was intrigued by Holly's talk of a business proposition and wanted more details. Holly explained that Luke had talked highly of Sonny, so she thought he might want to have a business relationship. Sonny immediately knew Holly was in some sort of trouble, and she wouldn't have dropped Luke's name so quickly.
Holly said she needed some merchandise moved and hoped Sonny could help. She even name-dropped Jason and mentioned their adventure in Africa. Holly then asked Sonny for discretion, but before he could respond, Diane walked in. As soon as she saw Holly, she made a hasty retreat.
Sonny and Holly continued their conversation. Sonny wanted to know what was in Holly's bag, so she showed him Sidwell's raw diamonds. Sonny's face quickly lit up. Holly assured Sonny that the diamonds couldn't be tracked, but Sonny stated the obvious. "Someone had them before they got to you, so they are going to want them back," he said.
Holly explained that her main concern was liquidating the diamonds so she could quickly leave Port Charles. Sonny admitted he didn't usually traffic diamonds, but he would help Holly if he got a 30% cut of her profits. Holly tried charming Sonny into lowering his ask, but he refused, telling her that she wasn't his type. Holly said she would consider his ask and left him a diamond as a good-faith deposit.
Anna called Jason and told him to be careful because Sidwell had been spotted in Miami. She then walked into Robert's office and found him pensively staring out the window. He immediately knew that Anna was aware that he had another daughter.
Robert laughed at the idea of how Anna probably reacted when Holly told Anna the news. Anna admitted that she may have been a bit hypocritical, but Robert assured her this was nothing like when Anna hid Robin's existence for the first five years of their daughter's life.
Still, Anna was furious. How could Holly hide Sasha's identity for so long? "Because she thought I was dead for 15 years," Robert said. Anna acknowledged that was a good excuse at first, but what about all the years Robert had been back in Port Charles and the years he had spent married to Holly during this century? Robert didn't believe that Holly was intentionally trying to hurt her.
Robert told Anna that he and Sasha took a DNA test in case Holly was lying. However, his gut told him that Holly was telling the truth. He knew the second Sasha walked into his office. "She had my mother's eyes," Robert said. Before Anna left, he asked if he could be the one to tell Robin she had a sister.
Robert welcomed Diane as his next visitor. She couldn't wait to tell him that she saw Holly in Sonny's office.
As for Anna, she found herself at Holly's room at Metro Court to give her a warning. Sidwell was alive and in the United States. "I am thinking he didn't come just because you hurt his feelings, so I am guessing that you took something from him," Anna said before offering to help Holly out of a jam. Holly still refused to admit she took the diamonds.
