Carly woke to find Jack by her side and asked what happened. Jack assured Carly that she was going to be okay, but she was still confused about why she was there. Jack left "to make sure this never happens again" while Isaiah spoke to Carly. She was horrified to learn she had been poisoned.
In the hallway, Jack was surprised to see missed calls from Sonny on his phone. He accused Anna of disobeying his orders and calling Sonny, but Anna denied the accusation.
Sonny opened his front door to find Dante standing there because he needed someone to talk to. "I think I just made a huge mistake," Dante said. He explained that Lulu wanted Rocco to come live with her and he advised against it. Sonny advised Dante to talk it out with Lulu and compromise.
Just then, Jack called Sonny back. Sonny informed him that a former colleague was in town who was last seen in South America. "There's a boat waiting for him at Pier 55," Sonny said. Jack was grateful for Sonny's tip.
"I owe you one so I am going to even it up right now. Your ex-wife is at Pier 55 as a patient," Jack said.
Jason arrived at GH before Sonny so Anna filled him in on what happened to Carly. Jason ran into her room and was stunned to hear that Carly had been poisoned with polonium. However, Jack was the target. Anna soon arrived and needed to ask Carly some questions.
Carly told her about the knock at the door and how she believed the champagne in the hallway had come from room service. She drank some but before Jack could have any, she started feeling sick. "It hit me so fast I don't know what happened next. I just woke up and I was here," she said. When Anna left the room, Jason gave Carly a look. "I don't want to fight with you about Jack," Carly said.
Outside Carly's room, Anna told Sonny and Dante what happened. "I'm thinking that this was Valentin," Anna said. When Dante heard that Valentin was in Port Charles, he knew he had to go see Lulu. Dante left, so Sonny took Anna aside and told her about his run-in with Valentin earlier. "He's on his way out of town. I don't think he's going to get too far," Sonny said.
An alarmed Anna realized that Sonny had called Jack and told him where to find Valentin. "You know that Jack will only try to kill him," she said. "Well, the world will be better off without him," Sonny announced, to which Anna responded, "You're such a bastard."
Anna quickly left, so Sonny entered Carly's room and asked what she had gotten herself into this time. Carly explained her ordeal, but Sonny was more interested in talking to Jason. He told him that Valentin was back and was the one who poisoned Carly. Sonny also informed Jason that Anna and Jack were on their way to the pier to see him. Sonny asked Jason to make sure Jack killed Valentin.
Rather than knocking on Laura's door, Valentin decided to pick the lock. However, Laura caught him and immediately made her presence known. "You're not going to take Charlotte with you. I won't let you," she said. Laura pulled Valentin aside and continued. "You can't just show up here in the middle of the night when you're wanted by the authorities. That puts me and everyone else in this house in a terrible position," she explained.
Valentin felt it would hurt Charlotte if she knew he was in Port Charles and didn't reach out to her. Laura pointed out that she was already hurt. "Charlotte is entitled to her life here with her family in Port Charles," Laura stressed. She also advised Valentin to turn himself in so Charlotte would not have to always wonder if Valentin was alive.
Laura finally let Valentin into her apartment to talk. Laura begged Valentin to turn himself in, but promised to use her position as mayor to help him. Valentin wanted to know why he would do that for her. "Because you're Charlotte's father and I have gotten to know you these last few years and know you're a complicated man," she said.
Laura explained to Valentin that she had been on the run with Luke for years and knew what it felt like. She wanted Valentin to be able to stop running. Valentin said he just wanted to see Charlotte one more time before he left. Laura told him she was at the Quartermaines with Rocco for the night but she would protect him.
Before Valentin had a chance to say another word, Lulu walked into the room and asked what he was doing there. Valentin promised he wasn't there to take Charlotte. Laura left Valentin and Lulu to talk alone. Lulu also encouraged Valentin to turn himself in, but he said his only chance for survival was to run. "I'm responsible for my actions and I am the one who will suffer the consequences," Valentin said.
Valentin finally left and headed straight to Pier 55. Anna was on her way, but called Jack to warn him not to kill Valentin. When Valentin got to the pier, Jack was right behind him with a gun. "It's the end of the line, Valentin," he said.
Nina caught up with Willow in the hospital halls and told her that they needed to talk. Willow was surprised when Nina told her that she thought she should reconsider moving in with Drew.
"I have heard the situation between Drew and the Quartermaines has been getting worse by the day. They are itching for a fight, Willow, and that could lead to a long and brutal custody battle for Wiley and Amelia," Nina said. Willow disagreed and trusted that Michael would not want to drag things out.
Nina reminded Willow that if she moved in with Drew, then Michael could change his mind and fight harder for Wiley and Amelia. Willow changed the subject and told Nina about what happened to Carly. "She was in bad shape. She almost died," Willow said. Nina thought this was another reason that Willow should not move in with Drew. With Carly in the hospital, the optics would be awful.
Willow pointed out that she couldn't live with Nina forever. Nina agreed so she offered to buy Willow her own house. Willow considered it but lamented how disappointed Drew would be. Willow said she would think about it, but needed to get home and separate herself from her work environment.
Drew opened his door to find Aunt Tracy standing there to inform him that his lawyer was on his way to California with a federal marshall as they spoke. "Martin Grey has been arrested. What the hell did you do?" Drew asked. "Nothing. He did it to himself," Tracy replied. Tracy explained why Martin was arrested and then asked Drew to reconsider his stance on the Q crypt.
Drew was not about to give into Tracy and stressed that there were other lawyers out there and he didn't need Marty. "You can get a new lawyer. Get a dozen of them. I can take every one of them down. I have the time and the money," she said. Drew said he would make the time to fight her.
"Drew, you're just not the brightest bulb in the shed and if you try to match wits with me, I'll win every time," she insisted. Drew got in Tracy's face and told her that the law was on his side. "So back up, take your hits, and move the crypt. Trust me, the people that are in there, they're not going to care," Drew said coldly just as Willow walked in. She didn't appear to hear what Drew said.
Tracy tried to make polite small talk with Willow, but the conversation quickly devolved. Tracy couldn't believe Willow would move her children in with that "horrible man." Her parents would be horrified, but Willow wondered how she could possibly know what they would want. She even called Drew amazing and bragged how Wiley and Amelia couldn't wait to move in with him.
Ava met with her accountant at the Port Charles Grille and was devastated to hear that she was still broke. The accountant advised her to sell one of her galleries or she would lose both of them. She also owed back taxes, so he wanted her to control her spending. Ava was horrified when her accountant asked her to hand over her credit cards.
A crestfallen Ava did just that but begged for at least one card so she could pay for her dinner and drink. He handed one back and advised her to stay within her credit limit, something she knew little about. When the accountant left, Nina called to tell Ava she was on her way cause she needed to talk.
When Nina arrived, she was horrified to see Ava drinking beer so she ordered them some decent wine. She couldn't wait to celebrate the possibility of buying a house for Willow.
Cody ended up down at the PCPD so he called Alexis to help him out of a jam. When Alexis arrived, Molly explained that Cody had been arrested for grand theft auto. Alexis advised Molly to recuse herself from the case because mother and daughter shouldn't be opposing counsels.
Molly explained how that would delay the arraignment, so Ric appeared out of nowhere with a suggestion. "You could recuse yourself," he said to Alexis. Ric and Alexis shifted right into argument mode, debating who would end up being Cody's lawyer. Molly finally stopped them so Cody chimed in, explaining that he had been arrested for stealing his own car. "This is all a huge mistake," he said.
Molly did a little digging and it turned out that Cody was right. The officer had run the wrong plate number when he pulled Cody over. Ric started arguing with Alexis that she should have had that cleared up sooner, but Cody took Ric outside to chat. That left Alexis to complain about Ric to an exasperated Molly.
Outside, Cody had words with Ric. "You need to think about what your endless scrapping with your ex is doing to your daughter," Cody said. "All she wants is parents who can stay civil in the same room," he added. Inside, Molly also asked Alexis to quit arguing with her dad.
