Jason and Sonny rushed into his penthouse the moment they heard the explosion and tried to rescue a burning Michael. Sonny called 911 while Jason draped a blanket over Michael. He was suffering from burns, but his face seemed to be okay.
At the hospital, Isaiah and Portia discussed the Cyrus situation. Portia told Isaiah she had kicked Cyrus out of the hospital and was going to officially ban him from seeing patients. Isaiah wondered if it would even work. "Cyrus doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who is going to go away quietly," he noted.
When Michael was rushed into the ER, both Lucas and Isaiah tried to come to his aid, but Isaiah asked Lucas to step aside because he and Michael were family. He promised to take good care of Michael.
When Carly arrived at GH with Brennan, she immediately ran into Sonny's arms. She knew the penthouse was on fire, and she was glad to see that Sonny and Jason were okay. Then, she saw the looks in their eyes and knew something bad had happened. Jason told her Michael had been hurt.

Carly immediately went ballistic as Jason explained that Michael was badly burned. Carly knew it wasn't an accident. "Someone was trying to take you out, and Michael paid the price," she shouted.
At Dex's apartment, Josslyn examined the gun she found in Dex's drawer and wondered where it came from. She quickly hid it when Trina returned. Joss told Trina she wanted to stay a little longer but needed to be alone to grieve. Trina didn't like the idea. "No one understands more than I do that sometimes you need to be alone in your grief, but I'm not sure it's a good idea for you to be alone. At least not right now," Trina said.
Josslyn managed to get Trina to leave. She then sat alone in Dex's apartment,, looking at a photo of the two of them. She then walked back to the drawer, where she found the gun. She examined it again before placing it on the table and almost loading it with bullets. She stopped before she got too far.
Joss once again hid the gun when there was a knock on the door. She opened it to find Brennan, who asked her to come with him to the hospital to be with Carly. They got to GH just in time for Lucas to give them an update on Michael's condition.
Michael had sustained third-degree burns over 40 percent of his body and was in critical condition. Lucas could not assure Carly that Michael would live.
While her husband was literally on fire, Willow had sex with Drew in his DC hotel room. In the afterglow, an oblivious Willow wondered how things got so bad with Michael so fast, clearly not remembering what she had just done in bed with his uncle minutes before.
Willow marveled at the fact that Michael was once her friend and confidante and now wanted custody of her children. Drew assured Willow he wouldn't let her lose her kids. Willow didn't feel confident. "Michal's powerful, Drew, with a never-ending bank account to back him up," Willow lamented.
Drew told Willow that he wanted to be with her, and that was the only thing that mattered. He didn't care whether they had a public or private relationship. Willow admitted her feelings for Drew were real. "In a perfect world, we would be together," Willow said.
Nina barreled into Curtis' office to announce she was flying to DC, but Curtis stopped her. Curtis pointed out that Willow is an adult who made her own choices, even if they were bad ones. Curtis advised Nina to call a lawyer rather than literally drag Willow and Wiley away from Drew.
Curtis had another strategy. Rather than focusing on what Willow could lose, he felt they should focus on what Drew could lose. "What if we went nuclear and called our media sources with a hot tip?" Curtis suggested. Curtis thought a story would look great on the front page of The Invader. They wanted to see whether Drew would give up a political career to be with Willow.
Nina wondered why Curtis still felt the need to get revenge on Drew after taking Aurora from him. Curtis said he didn't care whether he hurt Drew or not. He was just trying to secure his CEO position. In the end, Nina refused to go along with the plan because she knew it would hurt Willow.
Just then, Portia called to tell Curtis that Michael had been brought into the ER and might not survive. Nina quickly called Willow, who was horrified to learn what had happened to her husband.
Lois found Brook Lynn crying in the Quartermaine solarium and wondered what was wrong. She had just taken another pregnancy test, and it was negative. "I don't know, Ma, I'm beginning to think Chase and I may not be able to have kids," Brook Lynn said.
Lois encouraged Brook Lynn to be patient, but Brook Lynn admitted that wasn't one of her strongest qualities. Brook Lynn couldn't understand why she wasn't pregnant yet when she and Chase had done everything they could to make it happen. When Lois noted that it could take a while to get pregnant, Brook Lynn said what the audience knew they would eventually hear.
"Not when I was pregnant before, and you and I both know I wasn't trying," Brook Lynn sighed. Lois noted how those were different circumstances. She was a teenage camp counselor who got caught up in the moment and didn't use protection. Brook Lynn wondered if not being able to get pregnant was bad karma. "What if I'm being punished for giving up my baby?" she asked.
Lois assured Brook Lynn that wasn't how the world worked. "God doesn't punish, and we did the best we could," Lois said. Brook Lynn was tired of keeping her secret from Chase but felt it was too late to tell him now.
When Chase walked into the Q kitchen, he noticed that Sasha was feeling a little lightheaded and helped her to a seat. She claimed she had forgotten to eat so Chase found her some leftovers. Chase and Sasha made small talk as they compared their Christmases.
Sasha loved being with Maxie and the Scorpios. She had always wanted a big family Christmas and finally got one. When Sasha asked if Chase had gotten everything on his list, Chase sighed. He didn't get the one thing he had been hoping for — a positive pregnancy test for Brook Lynn.
Chase admitted it would be easier to be patient if they just knew she would be pregnant one day. "It's the uncertainty that's the killer...I just feel that we're putting too much pressure on ourselves," Chase said. He also confessed that he thought Brook Lynn felt pressure due to Gregory's desire for them to have kids.
