Laura was stunned to see Heather and Steven Webber by the hospital elevators. Heather joyfully announced that she was a free woman. Laura was confused as the last she had heard, Heather didn't want to be released. Heather told Laura that she'd changed her mind and had a great lawyer who got her off.
Alexis piped up that Ric was the culprit here, but Heather also thanked Alexis for being her cellmate. "The good news is, I got my freedom back. And my family. I just can't believe my good fortune, Laura," Heather said.
Elizabeth took Steven aside to ask him if he was sure he wanted to take Heather with him to Sedona. "If I don't take Heather on, who will? And maybe Mom and I can resolve a few things between us," Steven mused. Steven reasoned that Heather needed to be far from the people she'd hurt.
Dante soon appeared and was shocked to see Steven there. He didn't think Steven would ever get Heather on the plane. Steven was sure that Heather would and that he could help her lead a productive life away from Port Charles.

By the elevators, Heather assured Laura and Alexis she wouldn't be a bother to them because she was moving to Arizona with her son. "I hope you're not too upset by this, Laura, but I am leaving Port Charles for good," Heather said. Alexis and Laura did not seem upset at all.
Laura told Heather that she thought moving to Sedona was the best thing Heather could do for her victims. Alexis chimed in and offered encouragement, as well. Soon, Laura called Kevin and told him that Heather had been released and wanted to see Ace one last time. Laura would need Kevin to supervise the visit because she had to stay at the hospital to await word on Lulu. Heather was relieved to hear that Kevin had agreed that Heather could visit.
Steven and Heather arrived at Laura's apartment, where Heather was thrilled to see her grandson. Steven thanked Kevin for allowing Heather time with Ace, but Kevin said it wasn't entirely unselfish. "Laura and I don't want Heather to think that she has any unfinished business here," Kevin said.
When Heather hugged Ace goodbye, she whispered in his ear that she'd be back.
Back at the hospital, Alexis told Laura she was relieved that Heather was leaving town, but Laura worried that she allowed Heather to see Ace. Sonny also arrived to see Dante and asked how Sam's surgery was going. Dante expected to have news soon.
Dante said he was anxious to resume his life with Sam but worried that he had given Rocco false hope for his mother. A few minutes later, Elizabeth arrived to tell the waiting families that Sam was out of surgery, and it went well.
Anna barged into Brennan's office, needing to talk. She was determined to find Valentin so Charlotte would be aware that Lulu was undergoing a liver transplant. Brennan claimed the WSB knew nothing about Valentin and Charlotte's whereabouts, but Anna didn't believe him.
Anna confessed that she knew Valentin was working with Pikeman and was sure the WSB knew where he was. Brennan pointed out that Valentin would still be in town if she hadn't given Jason the information that Valentin was running Pikeman. Brennan also found it hard to believe this was about the "young girl that you shot in the dark."
A tearful Anna cried that she'd never be free of that guilt. "I just didn't want her to be without her father, so I let him get away. It was my mistake," Anna admitted.
Brennan still claimed not to know where Valentin was before asking if Lulu's family knew it was Anna's fault that Charlotte was gone. Anna said they did not, but she wanted to fix the situation since she was responsible. Anna vowed to find Charlotte and Valentin without Brennan.
Sonny and Holly met in his office once again. Holly was surprised to see Jason there but wanted to close the deal that was on the table earlier. Jason wanted to confirm that the diamonds did indeed belong to Sidwell. Holly tried to avoid the question as Sonny told her they might not have a deal at all.
Sonny handed Holly back her diamond and informed her that Sidwell was heading toward Port Charles. Holly still wanted to make a deal, so Sonny listened. Holly claimed she had the situation under control in Africa, but Jason pointed out that the WSB saved them all.
Sonny didn't want to hear the bickering. He just wanted to sell the diamonds before Sidwell made it to town. Knowing the WSB was involved, Sonny announced that a 30% cut was not enough. He needed 35%, and the diamonds would stay in his possession until he sold them. Holly still took one diamond with her before she left. Sonny gave Jason the bag of diamonds to keep safe.
Anna met Jason at Pozzulo's to update him on Valentin. She said she should have listened to Jason and not let her feelings for Valentin cloud her judgment. Anna was determined to find Charlotte, and Jason promised to help.
Jason then summoned Spinelli, who was alarmed to see the police commissioner. Anna explained that she needed "The Jackal's" help finding Valentin and Charlotte. Anna assured Spinelli that this was not official police or WSB business.
Nina met with Drew in her office to give him some news. "We have a major problem — one that might cost you the election," he said. Nina had data showing that working-class voters felt that a billionaire was out of touch with their needs. Nina had an idea that she felt might fix things.
Nina insisted that Drew take off his dress clothing and put on something more casual to show voters a different side of Drew. "We're going to go out there, have a couple of beers, and meet the everyman," Nina declared.
Drew didn't understand how this could be, considering he was raised in a group home and is a Navy SEAL veteran. Drew was unaware that his opponent had started running a smear campaign against him.
In the Quartermaine stables, Sasha told Cody she had lied about her mother being dead. Sasha admitted there was a problem between them, but Cody insisted they could face whatever it was together. Sasha sadly told him they couldn't be together at all.
A confused Cody wanted to know what was really going on, so Sasha told him that Robert was her father. Cody didn't believe her, so Sasha showed him the DNA test, which proved they were first cousins. Cody insisted that Holly had to have rigged the test, but Sasha didn't think so. After all, it was performed in a WSB lab.
Sasha told Cody the whole sordid tale of Holly leaving her with her grandmother so Holly could bleed rich men dry. She had also told Sasha that her father was dead. When Holly learned he was alive, she kept the identity of Sasha's father a secret. Sasha said she felt her life was finally on track, but now Holly's reveal blew everything up.
Cody wondered if Sasha would ever tell him that her mother was alive. Sasha said she didn't think she'd have to because she never planned to see Holly again. Sasha was grateful Holly had told her the truth before she and Cody slept together, or as Cody put it, "became more than kissing cousins."
Cody was clearly heartbroken. "I spent all these years reaching for things I couldn't have. So, of course, I find the best thing in my life, and it turns out I can never have it," he said.
Sasha told Cody they could still be friends, but an angry and frustrated Cody yelled that he didn't just want to be her friend. "I tried to turn my life around and be an upstanding guy, and for what?" Cody asked before running out in a huff.
Cody wound up at the Brown Dog downing shots of tequila. Nina and Drew also ended up at the same bar. A customer recognized Drew from his ads and introduced himself as a fellow Navy SEAL. When the bartender told Cody that he thought Drew seemed like a good guy, Cody recalled Sasha telling him that Drew was sleeping with Nina but had kissed Willow.
A drunk Cody walked up to Nina and Drew's booth and pulled Drew aside so he could deck him. "Who are you to tell me what to do, you smug bastard? You're making out with your nephew's wife while you're banging her mom!" Cody declared loudly. A shocked Nina hid her head in shame.
Back at the stables, Sasha broke down in tears until Holly arrived. Then, Sasha unleashed her rage at her mother. "I will never forgive you for this. You're dead to me," Sasha said.
