Chase entered the PCPD interrogation room and asked Anna if she had a lead on Cyrus. Anna claimed she had one — Jason Morgan. Anna became suspicious as soon as she saw how immaculate Cyrus' cabin was. "Only somebody like Jason would leave it that clean," she said.

Chase remembered that Jason had threatened to kill Cyrus, saying nobody would ever find the body. Chase didn't think Jason would follow through because it was reckless. "Normally, I'd agree with you. However, this involves Jason's son...Also, the cabin was so clean. It just screams professional," she explained. Anna wanted Chase to bring Jason in for questioning.

Jason met with Sonny at Bobbie's. Sonny had heard Cyrus was missing, but Jason claimed if someone had killed Cyrus, it wasn't him. Jason admitted he thought about killing Cyrus but decided it was the wrong move.

"I'm not saying you made the wrong decision, but it's not one you would have made a year ago," Sonny said. "A year ago, Danny's mom was still here," Jason countered. Sonny understood, telling Jason that he showed "restraint and respect." Jason replied that people change.

Josslyn watched Sonny and Jason from the counter until Trina walked in and demanded that Joss call her mother. "She's been blowing up my phone. She's worried sick about you," Trina said.

Joss brushed things off and said they were slammed with the breakfast rush, but Trina could tell something else was wrong. She also found it odd that Joss wasn't freaked out about losing her phone. Joss made up a story and told Trina that she was thinking about Dex the night before, so she went to his apartment to be alone and feel closer to her late boyfriend.

Joss went into more false detail and explained that her phone showed her a random memory photo of Dex, so she threw the phone against the wall, and that's why she needed a new one.

When Trina left and Joss got back to work, Gio arrived. He apologized for Emma's attitude the night before, but Joss said she expected it since she and Emma were frenemies as children. Sonny called Gio over to his table, so Jason joined Joss at the counter. She asked him if they could meet privately for advice, but Anna called and interrupted. Anna ordered him to get down the PCPD now.

Joss was later shocked when Felicia dropped into Bobbie's and mentioned that the PCPD thought that Cyrus had been killed and taken Jason into custody as the prime suspect.

Jason headed straight to the interrogation room but had no idea why he was there, so Anna told him. "I'd like you to explain to me how you went against everything we'd talked about last night," she started. She demanded to know where Cyrus was, but Jason genuinely did not know. "I didn't kill Cyrus," Jason insisted as Anna handed him a phone to call Diane.

"I thought about it. I even had it planned, and I know Cyrus deserved it, but when I left here last night, I went to Sam's grave, and then I went to Drew's," Jason explained. He told Anna that Sasha and Alexis begged him not to do it. "Oh, I wanted to, but I didn't because you asked me for a favor," he added.

Anna sat down with Jason and told him about Cyrus' immaculate hideout, which aroused her suspicions. "Only someone with your skill could leave a crime scene so clean," she said, to which Jason earnestly replied, "Thank you."

Anna wondered if Cyrus was on the run after all, but Jason didn't think so. "If the place was that clean, you can be certain that someone did kill Cyrus and then wiped the place after," he said. When Chase got the forensics report back, he informed Anna that two hairs were found at the cabin. They both belonged to Jason.

Brook Lynn took Lois aside in her bedroom and happily told her mom that she had filled Chase in on everything. He now knew she had a baby while in high school. Lois was immediately alarmed and wondered why Brook Lynn changed her mind. Brook Lynn explained it was because Chase felt so awful about Brook Lynn never experiencing a pregnancy if they chose to adopt.

"I knew it was time for me to be vulnerable and honest with him," she said. Lois was relieved to learn that Chase wasn't angry at all — and that Brook Lynn left the father's identity out of her story. "You saved us from devastation all around with that one," Lois said while breathing a subtle sigh of relief.

However, that relief turned to quiet panic when Brook Lynn said Chase asked if she wanted to find her baby. Gio then walked in, causing Lois to almost need smelling salts. Gio handed Lois an envelope from Sonny with enough money for her to take him to see the Chicago Symphony — and then some.

Ric and Ava woke up together, ready for a new beginning. Ava felt things were finally looking up for her. Ric wanted to take credit for Ava's 50/50 custody deal, but Ava knew he had nothing to do with it. Ric claimed that Sonny only offered the deal because Sonny was afraid of facing him in court. "So, me being a good mother? That accounted for nothing?" Ava asked. Ric assured her that it counted for everything but was still convinced that something had spooked Sonny.

Alexis was surprised to see Kristina, Molly, and Dante enter her office. Dante told the Davis women all about what happened with Cyrus the night before. They were understandably horrified to hear that Cyrus killed Sam because he was interfering with his mercy-killing mission. "So, my daughter was killed because she chose to save someone's life," Alexis said in disbelief.

Alexis was enraged that Cyrus hadn't been arrested yet. "There is no way that bastard is getting away with it this time," Alexis declared. Kristina went on a rant about the justice system. "Another killer has slipped through the cracks," she said, as Molly looked at her life she had three heads.

Alexis later sat alone contemplating Dante's new information when Ric arrived and asked if she was okay. "Why are you even asking that? You don't care about me. You don't even care about your own daughter," she said, prompting Ric to wonder if something had happened to Molly.

Alexis finally told Ric that Cyrus had killed Sam. Ric tried to put his arms around his ex for comfort, but she pushed him away at first before breaking down in his arms.

Molly and Kristina headed for Bobbie's. While the sisters spoke outside, Kristina once again raged at the justice system. Molly defended it, pointing out that she, Alexis, and Dante have dedicated their lives to it. Kristina didn't care and claimed the justice system failed her.

Laura thanked Felicia for all her support while family members have been in the hospital. Laura was happy to learn that Lucky's condition was stable. Laura wished she had never crossed paths with Cyrus, but was alarmed when Marty approached her and she saw the look on his face.

Felicia left Laura and Marty alone to talk. Marty was horrified after learning the news about his brother. He explained that he woke to the PCPD pounding on his door to ask questions about Cyrus. "I don't know how he could have done something like that to his own nephew," Marty said. "And niece," Laura added, before informing Marty that Cyrus tried to kill Lulu more than once.

Marty was sick to his stomach when Laura told him what Cyrus had done to Lulu and blamed himself. "I wanted to believe that he'd changed. I wanted to believe that the whole religious epiphany was for real," Marty lamented. "Well, in a way, it was," Laura said. She explained that Cyrus believed he was doing the Lord's work and that he caused Lulu's liver failure

"If I had only barred him from her room the moment I saw him sitting by her bed...I wanted to believe that it was all about him wanting to ingratiate himself to me and to the staff, so they would tell me how devoted he was. But he wasn't. He was poisoning my daughter and waiting for her to die. That bastard almost killed both of my children," Laura said.

When Laura told Marty about all the people Cyrus had killed, he was floored. He knew it was strange every time he saw Cyrus lurking around the hospital. Marty also told Laura that Cyrus wanted to "release" their mother from his suffering so Laura finally understood what prompted Cyrus' killing spree. "It's easy to make the connection between my past and our present," Marty said.

Marty even felt bad for filing a formal complaint against Jason for threatening Cyrus. Knowing what he now knew, Marty said, "If I was Jason Morgan, I would have done the same thing...Maybe Cyrus will never be released from his sickness unless someone like Jason Morgan takes care of him."

Sonny was the next person to drop by Laura's perch on a couch outside the 10th-floor elevators. They discussed Lucky. "His dad's a hero, his mom's a hero. He gets his strength from you but gets his stubbornness from both of you," Sonny said, cheering Laura up.

Kai met up with Quinn at the Surf Bar and thanked him for hooking him up with a reservation at The Savoy. Quinn used his family connection to Nneka to help out his friend. However, Quinn was surprised to learn that Kai had taken Trina to The Savoy on Valentine's Day of all days. Quinn felt that Trina was too critical and judgmental and needed to change her attitude. Kai defended Trina, telling Quinn that things had changed since they'd first met. "If anything, Trina is lifting me up," Kai said.

Quinn was furious. "I don't get it. I thought I got through to her when I told her to stay away from you," Quinn said. Kai also grew furious. "What did you just say? You talked to Trina behind my back?" Quinn said that he did, claiming Trina distracted him from the game and caused Kai's injury.

Kai told Quinn that Trina was the one person who had kept him going since his injury and he did not blame Trina at all.

Trina arrived at Ava's new place ready to discuss work. Ava could tell Trina was happy about something, so Trina filled Ava in on her date from the night before. Trina wanted to keep the fact that she had a great time a secret so Joss wouldn't feel sad. Trina remembered how horrible she felt when Spencer had just died. She also wondered why Ava was smiling.

"Because for the first time in a year, you're talking about your grief in the past tense," Ava said. Trina's face soon lit up when Kai called to ask if she wanted to get together.
