General Hospital Potential Pairs: Ric and Alexis or Ric and Ava?

General Hospital's Ric has an abundance of women in his life. While he would clearly drop everything in a heartbeat to be with Elizabeth, she has most definitely friend-zoned her former husband. Ava seems to be his consolation prize for now, but there is no denying the spark Ric has with another ex-wife — Alexis.

General Hospital's Ric and Ava seem like a perfect pair

Ric (Rick Hearst) and Ava (Maura West) appear to be an ideal match. They are town outcasts, they are greedy, and they are schemers. Their chemistry is off the charts and fans are delighted that 'Rava' seems to be an official pair now.

Ric and Ava truly get one another, something that is not easy for these uber-complicated characters. Ava fell for Ric much quicker than he fell for her and she is well aware his feelings for Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) are right there on the surface. However, Ava hasn't been thinking about Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) as competition for Ric but maybe she should. While Ric and Ava have been humming along for now, Alexis could complicate things.

Meet the Bickersons

There's a reason that Ric and Alexis' marriage didn't last long and it's not just because he cheated on her with Alexis' daughter Sam (Kelly Monaco). Alexis and Ric just can't get along. They snipe at each other over everything, shout at each other loud enough for all of Port Charles to hear, and are forever aggravating their daughter Molly (Kristen Vaganos).

However, that love they once shared briefly might be simmering beneath the surface. When Alexis learned that Sam was murdered, she angrily told Ric what was bothering her. He immediately tried to take her in his arms but she pulled away. Ric would not relent and eventually got Alexis to collapse in his embrace, showing that when push comes to shove, those old feelings are still there.

If GH were to give us an Ava/Ric/Alexis triangle, it would be absolutely delicious considering Ava and Alexis' histories. Kristina (Kate Mansi) still blames Ava for her fall out the window last summer, while Alexis rightfully blames Ava for causing her to lose her law license several years back. Never mind that Ava was once her sister-in-law and Ava's brother Julian (William deVry) held the dagger that killed Alexis' mother to Alexis' neck.

Wanting the same man could very easily turn Ava and Alexis into enemies like never before — and we'd pop some popcorn for the entertainment value in that.
