Five General Hospital characters in search of a storyline

With such a large cast, General Hospital has no shortage of characters who linger in the background and don't do much. The following five players have been beloved for years and truly deserve to shine again on their own.

Felicia Scorpio

Felicia (Kristina Wagner) has been back as a regular member of the GH canvas since 2022, but she hasn't had her own storyline during that time. She came back swinging when she clubbed Peter August (Wes Ramsey) over the head with a tire iron and killed him, but since then, she has mainly participated in a few capers with Lucy (Lynn Herring) and held Mac's (John J. York) hand through his sporadic drama with Cody (Josh Kelly).

At least Felicia got a new career during this time when she became a hospital patient advocate, but where is her own story where she does more than just support other people, some of whom are practical strangers to her?

Maxie Jones

Felicia's daughter has also not had a story for a few years. Maxie's (Kirsten Storms) lackluster romance with Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) fell so flat that she barely remembers he existed, just like the rest of her Port Charles friends who didn't even care that he was murdered. We barely saw Maxie's second chance at romance with Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). They are just back together, and that is that.

We know Maxie can hold her own in a front-burner story because she did it for years. The only thing we hope is that her next story isn't a baby story. (Chase and Brook Lynn can find another surrogate, right?)

TJ Ashford

TJ's (Tajh Bellow) daughter died last summer, and his life partner of more than a decade just moved out of their place. Yet, we almost never see him. He's involved with some pretty big plots but seems to remain on the sideline of his own stories most of the time. Why isn't TJ allowed to shine?

After his breakup with Molly, TJ should be dating. We should see how he is adjusting to life without his other half. While Molly (Kristen Vaganos) does not have a big story right now either, at least she is on screen to support her family members. TJ is practically MIA.

Portia Robinson

It's been nearly two years since Portia's (Brook Kerr) big secret was revealed, and she hasn't been on the front burner since. She's had a few minor stories that mainly involved her wanting to protect Trina, but where is conflict for Portia and Curtis (Donnell Turner) now that he has forgiven her for lying to him for 20 years?

When Curtis and Portia married, we met the male members of her family and thought we might finally get a little of her back story, but her brother Zeke (Gavin Houston) disappeared as quickly as he appeared after a one-night stand with Jordan (Tanisha Harper). Maybe bring Zeke back and give Portia a story with her family.

Lois Cerullo

Why did GH bring a dynamic and entertaining character like Lois (Rena Sofer) back if she wasn't going to do anything except sit around the Quartermaine mansion being a talk-to for Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton)? Her little arc trying to lose her Brooklyn accent doesn't count and seemed to be nothing but a stunt to bring on a guest star.

Lois has a built-in story waiting for her, living in the same house with her ex-husband and his new wife, who happens to be her childhood BFF. Yes, we are soon going to learn she knows exactly who Brook Lynn's child is, but that is more of a story for BLQ and Chase (Josh Swickard) than it is for Lois.
