Help! My eyes! What the heck did we just witness on General Hospital? It was a surprising week in Port Charles—with even more shockers in Africa.
General Hospital goes there with Jason and Anna
Yes, it was something we can never unsee and never want to see again. First, why did we watch Anna Devane—ANNA DEVANE—have a meltdown in a dangerous situation as if she has not spent her entire adult life on frightening capers? She knows how to handle herself and always keeps her cool. Why did a man—namely Jason Morgan—have to calm her down like she was some damsel in distress?

But then came the kiss, and all we wanted to do was go back in time, pretend it never happened, and then use our new from-the-future abilities to reverse the time-space-kiss continuum.
Sure, mothers and daughters have shared the same men on soaps, but not mothers and daughters when the daughter had a crush on the man when he was her high school classmate. Robin Scorpio later became Jason Morgan's first love after the car accident that left him brain-damaged and with no memory. Robin had just been diagnosed with HIV, and Jason was a blank slate. They were known as the "girl with no future and the boy with no past."
That girl ended up with an amazing future, and nearly 30 years later, Jason Morgan now has quite a past, but Jason and Robin were legendary in their time. When a couple makes that much of a mark on a show, their love story becomes tainted when the man is suddenly kissing the mother of his first love.
Thankfully, Anna got her groove back when the guards arrived, and she and Jason put their fighting skills to work. But that kiss was still sadly burned in our brains.
This kiss, take two
Speaking of mothers and daughters sharing a man, Willow still doesn't know that Drew is sleeping with her mother, Nina, but Drew is making it more clear every day that he also wants to sleep with Willow after a few forbidden kisses.
Too bad Willow has told Drew to just go away over and over again. Yes, she feels an attraction to him but her marriage is more important. That doesn't stop Drew from showing up wherever she is and following her when she bolts from the room. Drew Cain has become nothing but a creepy stalker in a sex scandal running for federal office.
At least Ned is onto Drew's new slimy personality and has the proof he needs to either out Drew as the creep he is or use his newfound knowledge to blackmail Drew into giving him the ELQ CEO position. Thanks to James blabbing that he heard Willow talk about kissing Drew, Ned might have all the ammunition he needs to bring Drew down. Leak it to the press before Election Day, Ned. We know you want to.
Will the truth (from Sonny, Carly, anyone) set Alexis free?
Poor Alexis is stuck behind bars, trying to make sure Kristina doesn't say something stupid and incriminate herself in a murder Alexis knows Kristina did not commit. However, Alexis and her Sonny-acquired lawyer know damn well it was Sonny who killed John.
Sonny is determined to help free Alexis, but nope, not if it puts him behind bars. Sonny has to look out for number one. And Carly has to look after Sonny. So what if Alexis is in jail, and so what if Carly has to pretend to be in love with Sonny again? With Carly so quick to give Sonny an alibi, is it really pretend?
Anvils drop for poor Sam
Sam didn't hold back this week when she called Carly out on her penchant for sending men into dangerous situations to do her dirty work while she sits back and doesn't break a nail. First, Carly refused to even budge to help Sam's mom, Alexis. All she had to do was tell the police Sonny asked her to give him a fake alibi, and Alexis would be free. But nope, Carly could never do that to Sonny.
Sam let loose as she read Carly for filth. All we could do was sigh and nod. Carly is the one who sent Jason into danger to save Lucky and Lulu while Sam now has to dive into the river to find the gun to prove her mother didn't kill an FBI agent. Carly is safe and sound, Jason may lose his life, and Sam could lose hers diving for the gun because Carly won't betray Sonny. With Sam dragging Carly right in comatose Lulu's hospital room, who could already see Sam's liver saving Lulu and not Lucky's?
Potential pairs
At least GH offered up some signs of new romance that don't make us want to run away and hide. Bringing back Michael E. Knight to turn Marty into Alexis' new lawyer was inspired. The banter between Knight and Nancy Lee Grahn oozed with chemistry, and it would be glorious to see these two iconic soap veterans paired.
Not to be outdone, Alexis' daughter Molly could use a little shakeup in the romance department. Molly and T.J. have been together since high school. Except for a one-night stand with Brando a few years back, neither Molly nor T.J. has ever given anyone else another look. Now, Molly seems to be developing a sweet friendship with Dex that could turn into something more. The chemistry between Kristen Vaganos and Evan Hofer is organic, and we'd like to see where their friendship goes.
Even Jordan might find herself with a man if her friendship with Isaiah goes somewhere. Jordan has been a lonely woman for far too long. Last year's one-night stand with Zeke barely counts 'cause he vanished before we could blink.
Final Thoughts
Give us more Tracy and Stella every single day. Is there anything better than two intelligent, witty, and mature women sitting around talking about life, friendship, and lost love? Give these two their own spinoff series so they can just do a live commentary on all the goings-on in Port Charles.
There is no way that Gio is not Brook Lynn's son with someone (probably Dante), so can that be revealed already? Otherwise, there really is no purpose to this character.
Three cheers to Portia for fiddling with Heather's blood test results. That's some real Mama Bear courage there. Heather is a serial killer who targeted Trina, and Portia is just protecting her daughter. Now, let's get soapy and see her set up Brad to take the fall. There's nothing like a mess to complement love in the afternoon—even "love" we're not sure we want to see.
