General Hospital's Carly finds a new friend
After a few pleasant and friendly encounters, Carly realized Jack Brennan was a little shady and whacked him across the face with a serving tray before Anna hauled him off to jail. That should have been the end of things right then and there, but Carly couldn't seem to stay away from Jack.
Knowing he was a former WSB agent, Carly kept popping up in Pentonville to visit Brennan and ask him for legal advice. When Brennan was finally released, he found legit work as the head of the WSB's new Port Charles bureau. Carly and Brennan seemed to pick up where they left off last fall, but they have taken things a bit further.

Carly now considers Brennan a friend rather than an acquaintance she visited in prison. She has found herself turning to him more often for help, and Brennan is happy to oblige.
Chemistry for Carly and Brennan
Fans noted the chemistry between Laura Wright and Charles Mesure when they began sharing scenes together last year. However, Carly seemed to be in flux for a while as she ended her relationship with Drew and finally accepted that the newly returned Jason friend-zoned her.
The clearest tell that Carly is drawn to Brennan is her refusal to listen to Jason. He told her to stay away from the agent because Jason doesn't trust Brennan for a second, and Carly has flagrantly disregarded his advice. She now introduces Brennan to people as her friend, telling them the incident with the serving tray was all a misunderstanding.
Yes, Sonny is still in Carly's life, and she has given him an alibi for the night of John Cates's murder by pretending they slept together—but she would clearly much rather be with Brennan than her ex-husband.
Too bad Diane has told Carly that she and Sonny need to keep up appearances and let the public believe the night of the murder wasn't a one-night stand. That could put a crimp in any potential for Carly to become romantic with Brennan, but sometimes the longing and slow burn make things more interesting.
