The fate of General Hospital's Spencer looks more bleak than ever as Nicholas Alexander Chavez is no longer on contract.
When General Hospital's Spencer Cassasdine plunged off the Parisian version of the Haunted Star into the River Seine in January, his loved ones wrote him off for dead. However, fans hoped for and expected his return after actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez finished filming his Netflix series Monster: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Now that return is up in the air as Chavez has been removed from the GH credits as of March 29.
There is no confirmation from the soap that Chavez is officially out, but social media is abuzz with the news. Fans wonder whether the Spencer will now be recast so he and Trina can continue their romance.
Chavez made his GH debut in July of 2021 playing a grown-up Spencer. The character finally returned to Port Charles from boarding school to settle a score with his new stepmother, Ava Jerome. He got sidetracked from his mission when he met Trina Robinson. The pair struck up a friendship, but it was nearly two years before anything romantic happened between them thanks to Spencer's boarding school girlfriend, Esme Prince.
Esme ultimately caused Spencer's demise when she followed him and Trina to a Paris riverboat before injecting him with a drug. That led to them both falling overboard to their alleged death. Whether GH recasts Spencer remains to be seen but Soap Central will keep you updated with the latest developments.
