Fans of Guiding Light will soon be able to watch classic episodes of the long-running soap opera in the comfort of their own homes. A new collection of 20 classic Guiding Light episodes will be released on DVD for the first time in mid-January.
The complete episode listing has not yet been released, but the format is expected to be the same as a collection of classic As the World Turns episodes released earlier this year. The four-disc series will include "Great Weddings," "Secrets and Scandals," "Springfield Through the Years," and "Villains and Vixens."
The DVDs will be released by Soapclassics.com, the same company that released a DVD collection of As the World Turns episodes in October. The company is the company officially licensed to release episodes of classic Procter & Gamble soaps. In addition to simply releasing episodes on DVD, the company has also taken on the painstaking process of restoring episodes to make sure that they are preserved for future generations.
