Meet the actress now playing GH's Charlotte Cassadine

General Hospital's Charlotte Cassadine has a new face, with actress Amelie McLain now playing the role previously portrayed by Scarlett Fernandez.

On the same day that Scarlett Fernandez shared the news that her five-year run as Charlotte Cassadine had come to an end after General Hospital unexpectedly chose to recast the character, viewers saw Charlotte appear on-screen with a brand-new face. It has now been confirmed that Amelie McLain is now playing the role of Valentin and Lulu's daughter.

"I am so grateful for this opportunity and excited to join the General Hospital family!" the actress shared on her Instagram account.

McLain, who made her GH debut during the December 21 episode of the ABC soap opera, previously appeared in the 2020 horror thriller Transference. She will also appear in Terrifier 2, which is currently in post-production.

In a goodbye message to fans, Fernandez shared that she hopes GH viewers will embrace McLain.

"Playing Charlotte Cassadine was my favorite and I'm sad it's come to an end," Fernandez wrote. "I will miss my castmates and the crew and I know the fans will support the new actor playing Charlotte."
