General Hospital's Josslyn Jacks is temporarily recast with Courtney Fulk while Eden McCoy takes a brief sabbatical.
On Monday, December 18, General Hospital viewers were surprised to learn that Courtney Fulk has temporarily stepped in for Eden McCoy as Josslyn Jacks. Fulk is new to daytime, but she has appeared in films such as Devil's Ride, Killer Seduction, and Killer Cheer Mom, which starred Denise Richards (ex-Shauna Fulton, The Bold and the Beautiful).
A reason wasn't given about the temporary recast, but the actress revealed in November that she had lost her mother to a two-and-a-half-year private battle with cancer. The Instagram post featured a photograph of a smiling Natasha McCoy with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop. In the heartfelt caption, McCoy admitted, "I'm not sure what to say other than she was, is, and will be the best thing I have ever known. She is responsible for every good part of me, and she took me with her when she left."

The show tapes six weeks in advance, so this does seem to be the reason for her leave. Currently, Josslyn Jacks is dating Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), who works for mob boss -- and Josslyn's ex-stepfather -- Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Josslyn is also attending med school at Port Charles University, where she has befriended a troubled classmate named Adam Wright (Joshua James Benard). If Joshua's last name looks familiar, it's because he's the real-life son of Maurice Benard.
There's been no word on just how long Fulk will be sticking around, but sources tell Soap Central that the sabbatical will be brief and that McCoy should be back on our screens at the beginning of the new year.
And on Friday, December 15, McCoy attended the 2023 Daytime Emmys, where she picked up the award for Outstanding Younger Performer. "I'm super-proud of everybody in my category," McCoy told Soap Central. "It's interesting to now be the oldest person in the category -- I used to be the youngest!"
Join us in extending a warm welcome to Courtney Fulk. Are you relieved that story for Josslyn can continue even while Eden McCoy takes a needed break?
