General Hospital is headed to primetime for a one-night-only special celebrating 60 years of drama and love in the afternoon.
Television's longest running scripted series will get the primetime treatment next month when ABC broadcasts an hourlong special celebrating all things Port Charles.
The television event, called General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling, will feature fan-favorite cast members from throughout the years as they pull back the curtain on six decades in Port Charles, including behind-the-scenes moments, bloopers, a special fan tribute, and more exciting surprises honoring General Hospital's legacy.
The special will feature GH cast members Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), Jane Elliot (Tracy Quartermaine), Genie Francis (Laura Collins), Finola Hughes (Anna Devane), Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall), Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos), and more.

The stars will be joined by current and past cast members Dancing with the Stars winner and pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, film and television star Emma Samms (Holly Sutton), ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/actor Rick Springfield, and actress and writer Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily Bowen Quartermaine), among other all-star celebrity guests.
General Hospital debuted April 1, 1963. The show has been named Outstanding Drama Series a record 15 times at the Daytime Emmys, and the show is once again nominated for the top prize this year.
General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling airs Thursday, January 4, at 10pm on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu.
