General Hospital's Matt Cohen (Griffin Munro) is hard at work on a gritty, high-octane action film called Mama Bear, and he is calling on fans to help him catapult it to audiences.
Sick of remakes, sequels, and reboots? So is General Hospital's Matt Cohen (Griffin Munro), who's in the throes of trying to change the entertainment sphere with a "face-melting, pedal-to-the-metal" action comedy called Mama Bear.
The Florida native has taken to Indiegogo with details about the 100-percent-original project, which he says was inspired by being "sick of seeing the same films over, and over, and over again."
Described as a gritty, high-octane punch of absolute awesomeness, Mama Bear follows a regular, everyday soccer mom with a hidden, violent past who has 24 hours to save her dying son in need of a transplant -- but it means hunting down her powerful crime lord ex-husband and taking his liver.

In order to get big-time investors to back the film, Cohen and his team must first make a proof of concept short, which is "a small, show-stopping sample of how volcanically awesome this film can be." And that's where fans come in.
Cohen has started an Indiegogo campaign to help raise 100k "to make the biggest, baddest, action comedy short that we can." And, as the actor explains on the fundraising page, "it's going to take all hands on deck to make it happen."
Some of the cool benefits of pitching in (besides helping revolutionize Hollywood, of course) include lunch with Cohen, a chance to attend the L.A. screening of the short, signed scripts and film posters, personal video shout-outs and thank you credits in the finished film.
"Want to meet the director? Talk to the cast? Be on set and watch as a real movie gets made? These rewards and more are available. All you have to do is pledge," says Cohen, adding: "It takes a TON of time, effort, energy, and an extra helping of good luck to get even the simplest project into production. That's why we've assembled the absolute best in the industry to help us. We're talking award-winning actors, stuntmen, crew, special effects teams, equipment, and a bunch of other fancy pants Hollywood stuff that gets our pants excited just thinking about it. After all, you put your hard-earned money on the line for this and it's vital we ensure you get what you paid for."
