Lindstrom's film wins Best of the Fest at Twain Harte

A legal spat is taking Michael Easton off of ABC's General Hospital

Jon Lindstrom, known for his roles in General Hospital, Port Charles, and As the World Turns, is now an award-winning director, producer, and writer. His film How We Got Away With It won big at the Twain Harte Film Fest.

Jon Lindstrom's (Kevin Collins) film How We Got Away With It won "Best of the Fest" at the Twain Harte Film Fest. The festival, which ran October 11 through 13, 2013 in Twain Harte, California, highlighted emerging independent films from around the world. Events included film screenings and workshops for students. Awards were presented on the final day of the festival.

This year's festival, the third annual, was originally scheduled for Labor Day weekend but was postponed due to the Rim Fire, which was threatening the area at the time. Proceeds of this year's festival will go to both scholarships and fire restoration.

Lindstrom directed, co-produced, and co-wrote How We Got Away With It in addition to being a cast member in the movie. The suspenseful film noir revolves around the character of Henry, recently released from prison, whose rash actions in response to a tragedy set off a chain of events that forever change his life and the lives of his friends.

Lindstrom is best know to soap fans for two roles -- Craig Montgomery on As the World Turns and Kevin Collins on both General Hospital and Port Charles. Lindstrom joined GH in 1992, but it wasn't as Kevin; he started on GH as Ryan Chamberlin, Kevin's troubled twin brother. For a period of a few years, Lindstrom pulled double duty as both Ryan and Kevin. Kevin's popularity resulted in the character being used to help launch GH's 30-minute spinoff, Port Charles, in 1997. Lindstrom remained with Port Charles for the series' entire six-year run. Lindstrom joined ATWT in 2008 and remained with the show through its finale in 2010.

Emmy winner Cady McClain, Lindstrom's fiance and former ATWT co-star, also took on a producing and directing project recently with the short-film Flip Fantasia.
