New primetime gig for Guiding Light alums Brittany Snow and Daniel Cosgrove

Heads-up to Guiding Light fans: Fox's new series Almost Family stars Guiding Light alum Brittany Snow (ex-Susan Lemay) with Daniel Cosgrove (ex-Bill Lewis, GL; ex-Aiden Jennings, Days of our Lives; ex-Scott Chandler, All My Children) set to make a guest-starring appearance.

Daniel Cosgrove is known to almost every daytime fan, having played a multitude of roles from Days of our Lives' Aiden Jennings and All My Children's Scott Chandler, to As the World Turns' Chris Hughes and Guiding Light's Bill Lewis. So, it's kind of a family celebration to announce that he has landed a guest-starring role on the brand-new Fox series Almost Family. And what makes the news even more family related is that the show boasts GL alum Brittany Snow (ex-Susan Lemay) in the lead role.

Set to premiere on Wednesday, October 2, Almost Family follows Snow in the role of only child Julia Bechley, whose life is turned upside down when her father reveals that, over the course of his prize-winning career as a pioneering fertility doctor, he used his own genetic material to conceive dozens of children. Reeling from this explosive revelation, Julia discovers two new sisters -- former best friend Edie Palmer (Megalyn Echikunwoke) and ex-Olympic athlete Roxy Doyle (Emily Osmet).

As these three young women begin to embrace their new reality, Julia must figure out what life is like without her father by her side; Edie comes to grips with her burgeoning sexuality as her marriage falters; and Roxy faces adulthood out of the spotlight. Against all odds, the three women attempt to form a bond as sisters, even as they must welcome a tidal wave of new siblings into their rapidly expanding family.

Cosgrove is set to play the role of Chad in the second episode of Almost Family, set to air on Wednesday, October 9. The synopsis for the episode, titled "Related AF," is as follows: "Julia is haunted by her new reality, while Roxy embraces it by spending quality time with Leon (Timothy Hutton). As Edie and Tim (Mo McRae) prepare for their trial, Tim notices interactions between Edie and the prosecutor, Amanda (Victoria Cartegena), that make him uneasy. Meanwhile, Dr. Isaac Abadi (Mustafa Elzein) steps up to the plate at the clinic."

After a successful career in soap operas that began with his 2002-2009 stint on GL and came to a close with his 2014-2016 role on DAYS, Cosgrove went on to recur on Showtime's Billions. He has also made guest appearances on You, The Blacklist, Elementary, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. His previous credits include Beverly Hills, 90210, All Souls, In Justice, and Dirty, Sexy, Money.

Brittany Snow played the role of GL's Susan from 1999 to 2000 before going on to land roles in series like American Dreams, Nip/Tuck, Harry's Law, Ben and Kate, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The actress, who got engaged earlier this year, is also known for roles in films like John Tucker Must Die, Hairspray, Prom Night, and Pitch Perfect.
