Coby Ryan McLaughlin says his "absolutely incredible" time on General Hospital has come to an end. The actor joined General Hospital in late 2018.
It looks like it's the end of the line for David Henry Archer, Hank, Shiloh, Shank, the Dawn of Day creeper... or whatever you want to call him. Coby Ryan McLaughlin has confirmed his exit from General Hospital.
In an Instagram story, the actor took time to thank everyone that made his time on General Hospital "so absolutely incredible." He also took time to thank the fans for their support -- even if his Port Charles alter ego wasn't exactly warm and fuzzy.
"Hey guys. I just want to give a shout out to everybody that made the experience I had on General Hospital so absolutely incredible," McLaughlin shared in a sun-filled, though slightly windy video. "I've never been involved in a show like that before and I've never seen such INCREDIBLE fans. You guys were truly amazing. I had an incredible time [and] I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel so welcome... Even if you wanted to f***ing hate me. And it's true, he was a pretty despicable guy, but I am glad I got to have the experience."

McLaughlin closed his video by wishing fans well and saying that he is looking forward to moving "onward and upward" after his time on General Hospital.
McLaughlin made his first appearance on General Hospital at the very end of 2018. Since that time, Shiloh has racked up over a dozen crimes -- including rape and murder. Knowing that his character wasn't going to be a good guy, McLaughlin revealed earlier this year that he'd made some surprising choices during his audition for the ABC soap.
"When I read for Frank (Valentini, GH executive producer) and the rest of the producers, I made some choices that I thought would make people in the room uncomfortable," he shares. "I thought, 'It's a creepy dude, I might as well!' There's no reason to play it safe with somebody like this. You have to channel your inner freak."
McLaughlin did not reveal his final airdate, nor how his character makes his exit. Will someone in Port Charles channel their inner vigilante and shank Hank? Will Shiloh simply Shi-go and leave town? Will these terrible name puns continue? You'll just have to keep checking Soap Central for updates and, of course, tuning in weekdays to General Hospital.
UPDATE (September 25, 2019): McLaughlin has shared more of his thoughts on his exits. You can read -- and hear -- them here.
