GH's Sean Blakemore shares scenes with Brad Pitt in Ad Astra

Talented General Hospital star Sean Blakemore (ex-Shawn Butler) has officially landed in Hollywood, starring opposite Brad Pitt in the upcoming sci-fi blockbuster Ad Astra.

Actors often shoot for the stars, but General Hospital alum Sean Blakemore (ex-Shawn Butler) has done so in more ways than one with his latest role. The former daytime performer is sharing the screen with Brad Pitt in the major space-themed movie Ad Astra, which hits theaters on Friday, September 20.

20th Century Fox has released a preview clip of the blockbuster film, and GH fans will be thrilled to see that Blakemore's character, Willy Levant, is prominently featured. What's more, his scenes are with Pitt, who plays leading character Roy McBride, an astronaut that undertakes a mission across an unforgiving solar system to uncover the truth about his missing father and his doomed expedition that now, 30 years later, threatens the universe.

If you're keen to send Blakemore your thoughts about his appearance in the Ad Astra trailer, you'll have to get in line behind Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), who congratulated his former co-star with the message: "I love watching your face in that trailer," to which Blakemore replied: "Thank you very much, my friend. I appreciate you saying so!"

Blakemore joined GH in 2011 and played Shawn until 2015, when the character was sent to prison to allow for the actor's exit. Although many fans of the ABC soap opera would love to see him back in Port Charles, Blakemore has likely hung up his daytime hat for the time being. Since walking away from GH, he has landed roles in a slew of noteworthy series like Devious Maids, American Crime, The Quad, 13 Reasons Why, Lethal Weapon, and Greenleaf. He also has a promising film career, with One Crazy Christmas and Spinning Man on his post-daytime resume.
