Adam Huss exits as Nikolas Cassadine

Adam Huss wraps up his short run on General Hospital as the dark prince, Nikolas Cassadine.

Sad news for fans of the dark prince. Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Adam Huss has finished his short run as Nikolas Cassadine.

On the September 15 episode, Nikolas Cassadine decided to leave the safety of his hideout, where Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) had nursed Nikolas through a coma. Nikolas explained that he intended to fly to Europe and make his presence known in order to keep the Cassadine estate from falling into Spencer Cassadine's (Nicholas Chavez) hands. It's a disappointing turn of events for those who were thrilled to have Nikolas back on the canvas just a few short weeks earlier, especially since there are so many unanswered questions, including what -- if any -- Cyrus Renault's (Jeff Kober) role had been in his nephew's recovery.

Huss began to fill in as the wayward prince back in 2021 on a few occasions when Marcus Coloma -- who had portrayed Nikolas Cassadine from 2019 to 2023 -- became sidelined. Huss had also ushered Nikolas off canvas earlier this year when it was revealed that Nikolas was in a coma after being bashed in the head by ex-wife Ava Jerome (Maura West). At the time, Huss told Soap Opera Digest, "I would be so honored to be asked back to that show. I love every ounce of it. I feel like soap operas are sort of the unsung hero [of entertainment]. I love the work that I got to do there."
