Maurice Benard has two non-soap projects on the way

General Hospital's Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) turns in an arresting performance in Lifetime's A Lover Betrayed.

Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) will appear in the upcoming independent film Hold On. No, the film is not about the 1990 Wilson Phillip's song, but there is definitely a music theme to the film. The plot revolves around an aspiring singer name Sindey Rhodes. Sindey gets mixed up Vic Duran, the rebellious son of a music manager played by Benard.

The film also stars some names and faces that even non-soap fans will recognize. Public Enemy and reality television star Flavor Flav and Mia St. John, the former wife of The Young and the Restless' Kristoff St. John also appear in the film. Tarek Tohme plays Vic, Benard's on-screen son.

Hold On will be released in February 2018.

It seems that Benard has been quite the busy bee. He also worked on what is being called a "top secret project" with Ryuhei Kitamura and Masters of Horror director Mick Garris. There is no official word on exactly what that project will be, but Garris has two projects in the works: the films Invasion and Soy Miedo.
